Good God...

I'm glad to hear that you're still alive STU, wouldn't want to have anyone die on us now. Just live right, especially with your diet. ;)

And how the hell did removing the wisdom teeth fracture your jaw? That doesn't sound like a usual thing to happen with that kind of surgery.

I actually know someone who also had this happen.
The jawbone is thinnest and weakest at the point where the wisdom teeth are located.

Now I know why you're called JuiceBox ...since I'll bet that's where most of your meals come from. ;)

Wow, glad you're still with us STU. Your story makes me want to change my diet.
Diet is only part of it.
I was staying up late at night, playing Tribes while chain-smoking and smoking dope, and drinking 3 - 4 20 oz bottles of Mountain Dew daily.

Add to that my lack of excercise from being unemployed, losing my apartment and vehicle and the stress of being wrongfully prosecuted by Marathon County and it's a wonder this didn't happen sooner.

Fuck bros, who here practice sports at least once a week?
I think we all should start taking care of our health. Everybody knows Stu is not a kid anymore, but this could happen to the youngest of us (maybe husky) in 10 years if you are not taking care of yoursef.
We should encourage our members to practice some sport and have a healthier life.

An interesting side-effect of the heart stents: For over a year now I've had a right-shoulder pain that I thought was because of my age and the job I did, which involved using a power drill to drive large lag screws. It felt like a torn rotator cuff that just wouldn't heal. It was getting so bad that I was considering going to a doctor to see if I could get it injected with cortozone to numb it. I had hoped that being unemployed would give it time to heal, but it never did.

It wasn't until this morning that I noticed that the pain was completely gone...like it was never there. I didn't notice until I got out of my own bed this morning and was astonished at how easy it was.

Apparantly my shoulder pain was part of my circulatory problems and not a joint problem at all ...something the stents also repaired.

Something to consider if any of you have unexplained joint pain that won't get better. Don't just assume it's age or injury...
This shoulder pain was the only warning I had for over a year.
I just didn't know what my body was telling me.

Remember how when you were elementry-school age, the summers would seem to last forever and as you got older the years seem to go by faster and faster?

That never stops.
You get "old" sooner than you think.
and I'm not so old that I don't remember how younger people think.
Young people think they're invincible. ...that heart disease only happens to other people or only those that are overweight ...that they won't have to pay later for the things they do now.

I started smoking at age 19. I kept telling myself that somehow I was stronger and more resiliant than most people and that cigarettes wouldn't hurt me because I was young and strong and the odds were in my favor.
Even though my Grandfather had died from lung cancer at age 75, I justified my smoking by convincing myself that 75 was still a long life and that it probably wouldn't happen to me anyway...

Well, I was right...
I don't have lung cancer.

I'm glad you are still here with us, STU!!! Now changing your lifestyle is a must!
Did the doctors tell which arteries you got affected? ADA?
On statins, aspirin, anti-hypertensive drugs now? Got to take them properly too man!!
If you also have diabetes, it can deteriorate your circulation even more, so controlling it helps a lot.

I agree with Rasta, we should all have healthy habits, it is essential, I can tell..
Until the end of this month, I'm in Miami, getting in contact a little more with American life. It is not the best envoirnment for healthy life aswell.

Right now I'm rotating in an ICU (Intensive Care Unit). You have n oideao of the complications that Obesity causes to people, specially when they are severely ill from other diseases, including heart attacks. And Obesity is considered now a disease, with a bunch of bad implications!!!!!!!!!!

Let's make TL members live longer and better :D

Obesity can actually slow brain processes.
