Hey all, I've been talking with Nagata-sensei extensively about the whole collegiate games idea. We were thinking June 14th. There will also be a godo-keiko afterwards too. It's all in good fun, so please consider going even if you are not in bogu. We can all carpool together (as a team!) I am not sure about accommodations if any of you wanted to stay up in Columbus (it's probably going to be in OSU) but please post on here if you're interested so I can get a head count on who will go and who will not. Even if you don't have bogu you can come to the party afterwards and the godo-keiko the next morning! It'll be fun - if it's your first kendo event, you'll be able to meet all the other college kendoka and sensei, too. It's a great opportunity to meet the big-wigs and strong arms of ECUSKF. |

One question that should be answered is whether or not non-students or grad-students are ineligible. I would assume that this would be the case though since people would just try and recruit super-special-awesome sensei which would throw off the balance for those that aren't so fortunate to not have that sort of access. |

Yeah. You're right. We're trying to make it so that only college students can join (undergrads in the tournament only) but we're not too sure on that because we may not even have enough people to make teams...! Nagata-sensei said that he would mix and match kind of though so that he would watch us do kihon/kirikaeshi and then make teams based on ability. So we may not even end up fighting for the same team! Oh well... :rolleyes: |

Have you guys talked to the OU kendo club? I've seen them at OSU godo-keikos before. i think they're mostly mudansha, but i could be wrong. |

Yeah I sent them an e-mail but have yet to hear back from them.... I am not sure if that was the most efficient way to get a hold of em... but still. I have no idea. |

So as of now, the Kohei Cup is going to be held sometime in the fall - probably around September or so. I'll post information as it comes, so keep your eyes peeled! |

Dear dojo representative, ECUSKF is in the process of planning a tournament for university students. We would like to find out which date is best for everyone so that as many competitors as possible can participate. Please look at your calendars and pick a sunday in october that is best for your club. The dates are 5th, 12th, 19th, or 26th. Please take into consideration school schedule, holidays, exams, and distance needed to travel. It is possible that the tournament will be held in Lexington, KY or at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. Please send a response by July 10th to both of us at the email addresses below. Thank you for your time and consideration. Aghhh... So anyone who CAN join on these forums... please respond quickly. Even if you can't, you should still come up to meet all your fellow Ohioan College Kendoka. |

I think so, but I'm pretty sure there'll be a godo-keiko afterwards so it is probably a good idea to show up anyway if you can. I'm gonna try and bring all the young upstarts even if they don't have bogu to the tourney. |
