Looks like they finally got their arse into gear and actually brought out a decent version, not just a new number with the same content and bugs. Been on some of the poser forums and from what i have heard its all good. ~They have completely changed the interface, updated a lot of things, fixed nearly all the bugs that poser 7 and poser pro had> one of the new eatures is a wardrobe wizard which means that clothing can be converted to any character to wear. Rendering is rumored to be much faster and they have even brought out an awesome new global illumination system and realistic illumination

Rendering a standard figure with strand hair and raytraced shadows in poser 7 and pro would normally take 3-10 minutes to render a single frame (dependent on pc specs). Poser 8 with the same settings will take 10-40 seconds with MUCH higher and realistic quality. The above demonstration images are not an over exaggeration with hours of setting up and professional tweaks or plug ins added.

Nice. I'm excited. But how do i get animated characters, complete with motion capture and lip syncing, into 3ds max? I know you can't export sequence, but how do you load sequences into max? |

you need poserfusion which doesn't come with poser 8. it comes as standard with poser pro or on its own. Its the only way to import poser animations into max. it takes up a bit of memory because the meshes have millions more polygons than your standard max 3d characters. And you need to do a search for mocap files that are BVH format. |
