Photoshop filters dont work

Pro Cameraman Posts: 58 Group: Members Member #208 Joined: April 28, 2008	alright, i had enough of this to do something about it. some times in files im working on in photoshop when i open the Filter Tab half of the filters text are gray and i cant open it any further. its really causing problems now because i cant use most filter options and the one i can open only have one or two in the roll out i can use (black text) thoughts? keyboard commands wont work for them either. I feel stupid, after such a long time i had this problem i finally post for help and i figure it out, the image was a 16-bit not 8 and some filters don't work for 16-bit. DOH! Site Administrater Posts: 2,053 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: July 5, 2007	Have you tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstalling it from fresh? Adobe stuff occasionally gets corrupted

Posts: 733 Group: Admin Member #72 Joined: December 31, 2007	Or it could be that you are trying to apply the filters on a layer that's not named yet. If you double click on the layer, to the right side of it, and then name it whatever, then you should be able to apply filters.
