Biggest Loser Season 11 Premiere Recap: The Ultimate Prize

As usual, on this season of Biggest Loser, each contestant had a story as to why he or she was honored to be chosen for the show. A few of the stories that stood out were those from Rulon, Sarah, Arthur and Courtney. Rulon is a former Olympic Gold Medalist wrestler. Sarah and her husband desperately want to start a family. They¡¯ve been trying for a while, but Sarah miscarried quite a few times because of her weight. Arthur is one of the largest contestants to visit the Biggest Loser ranch. And finally, there¡¯s Courtney. Courtney had to lose over 100 pounds on her own before doctors would release her to compete on the show, and now that she¡¯s lost that weight, she¡¯s determined to lose a whole lot more while on the ranch.

The 11 teams were ready to begin their journey to a healthier lifestyle. Before they weighed in for the first time, though, they met Bob and Jillian face-to-face. After meeting Bob and Jillian, Alison directed them to the scale for their first weigh-in of the season.

Team Brown: Father and Son Ken: 377 pounds Austin: 396 pounds
Team Aqua: Mother and Daughter Courtney: 323 pounds Marci: 238 pounds
Team Orange: Mother and Daughter Ana: 255 pounds Irene: 255 pounds
Team Red: Husband and Wife Larialmy: 301 pounds Jaquin: 437 pounds
Team Pink: Mother and Daughter Sarah: 261 pounds Denise: 256 pounds
Team Blue: Father and Son Jesse: 293 pounds Arthur: 507 pounds
Team Green: Father and Daughter Jennifer: 278 pounds Jay: 400 pounds
Team Purple: Sisters Olivia: 261 pounds Hannah: 248 pounds
Team Gray: Father and Daughter Kaylee: 233 pounds Moses: 440 pounds
Team Black: Twin Brothers Don: 309 pounds Dan: 287 pounds
Team Yellow: Friends Justin: 365 pounds Rulon: 474 pounds

After the Biggest Loser contestants¡¯ first weigh-in, Alison had them believing they were headed to the gym for their first workout. They were ready to go, but then Alison informed them they¡¯d be competing in their first challenge instead.

No doubt the contestants feared the first workout, but I think they worried about the challenge more, because based on past seasons, they assumed one or two teams would be sent home.

Despite their fears, the teams followed Alison outside. Upon arriving at their destination, they saw a line of treadmills. As they looked to Alison for more information, she explained that the challenge would determine with whom they¡¯d train. She continued by letting the teams know they¡¯d be choosing to workout with Bob and Jillian or the two new trainers (a.k.a the unknowns) who would be a part of Biggest Loser season 11.

It was dark outside, so when Alison revealed the twist, the only thing the contestants could see was the silhouettes of a male and female in the distance. Naturally, none of the teams wanted to train with the newbies; they preferred Bob and Jillian. In an attempt to change the contestants¡¯ minds, Alison offered four weeks of immunity to the five teams who chose to train with the unknowns. Eyebrows rose then, and that¡¯s when they learned they had to run a 5K marathon on the treadmills as a team to earn the right to choose their trainers.

Teams were allowed to take turns on the treadmill, but Alison went on to say the order in which they finished would be the order they¡¯d choose their trainers. Furthermore, only the first five teams to finish were guaranteed a choice.

The Biggest Loser teams were off and running. Justin and Rulon¡¯s strategy was to push themselves as hard as they could. Then when one of them tired out, the other would take over. Kaylee, determined to beat Rulon and Justin, also pushed hard. Despite her effort, Rulon and Justin finished first and won the right to choose first. Kaylee and Moses weren¡¯t far behind, though, which means they finished second. Courtney and Marci finished third, followed by Jennifer and Jay. Ken and Austin were the fifth team to complete the challenge. Although the remaining teams lost the guaranteed choice, they didn¡¯t stop until they reached their 5K.

After everyone completed the challenge, the selection began.

Rulon and Justin, Kaylee and Moses, Ken and Austin, Sarah and Denise, and Larialmy and Jaquin choose to train with the unknowns. Ana and Irene really wanted immunity, but since Larialmy and Jaquin chose before them and requested the final spot with the unknowns, Ana and Irene lost their chance at immunity.

Courtney, Marci, Jen, Jay, Olivia, Hannah, Ana, Irene, Arthur, Jesse, Don and Dan headed back inside to tell Bob and Jillian about the challenge. After Bob and Jillian learned what happened at the challenge, they were shocked to discover that Courtney, Marci, Jen, Jay, Olivia and Hannah opted to train with them over choosing the unknowns for the four-week immunity. After all, it was the ultimate prize in Biggest Loser history.

Later, Bob and Jillian led their team to the gym for the first workout. This season Jillian decided she was going to try hard not to yell, but Bob had a felling that wouldn¡¯t last long. Jillian succeeded at first, but Bob¡¯s prediction was correct.

¡°Jillian¡¯s always going to yell,¡± Bob said, with a grin from ear to ear.

While Bob and Jillian continued their brutal training in the gym, Rulon, Justin, Kaylee, Moses, Ken, Austin, Sarah, Denise, Larialmy and Jaquin were training with the unknowns. They trained on the Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge in Malibu, California. The five teams training with the unknowns were getting just as hard a workout as Bob and Jillian¡¯s team. However, we still didn¡¯t know who the new trainers really were. All we knew was that the female is a Golden Glove champion and the male is a martial arts trainer.

Back at the ranch, Arthur complained that his leg was hurting and he couldn¡¯t move it. Yet, as Jillian pointed out, he was moving it as he walked on the treadmill. Eventually, though, he went down, but after a few minutes, he managed to pick himself up off the floor, and that¡¯s when Bob took him outside for a private chat.

Later, while Bob and Jillian¡¯s team was in the gym doing yoga with Bob, they heard honking outside. The Biggest Loser teams, along with Bob, went outside and saw Jillian in a big pickup truck, which the contestants ended up having to push a mile.

At the weigh-in, Alison let Bob and Jillian¡¯s team know the results of the other team¡¯s weigh-in. She said the team that lost the most (Rulon and Justin) lost a combined total of 59 pounds. In addition, one player alone (Moses) lost 41 pounds ¡ª a Biggest Loser record for the most weight loss ever. All of that lifted the contestants¡¯ spirits, and they were ready to face the scales.

¡öCourtney lost 15 pounds. Marci lost 14 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 29 pounds (5.17 percent).
¡öArthur lost 31 pounds. Jesse lost 7 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 38 pounds (4.75 percent).
¡öJen lost 20 pounds. Jay lost 26 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 46 pounds (6.78 percent).
¡öBoth Olivia and Hannah lost 16 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 32 pounds (6.29 percent).
¡öAna lost 9 pounds. Irene lost 13 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 22 pounds (4.31 percent).
¡öDon lost 21 pounds. Dan lost 19 pounds. Together, they lost a combined total of 40 pounds (6.71 percent).
Before the elimination, Ana strongly asked her competitors to send her home instead of her daughter. Ana told them Irene needed to be on the ranch more than she did. Everyone understood Ana¡¯s plea and honored her request.

Update: Since Ana¡¯s time on the Biggest Loser ranch and after she was eliminated, she has lost a total of 50 pounds.

Biggest Loser Season 11 Recap: The Unknowns vs. the Ranch Contestants

Posted Image
NBC

Last week, Alison started the Biggest Loser season 11 premiere with a challenge for the unknowns and Bob and Jillianfs team. She let everyone know that the team with the highest percentage of weight loss would win $10,000. In addition, if Bob and Jillianfs team won the weigh-in, theyfd also receive immunity for the week.

After Bob and Jillianfs team watched a video of how hard the unknowns were working out with the new trainers, they decided to head to the Biggest Loser gym to catch up. With a desire to beat the unknowns, everyone worked hard. However, back at the resort, the unknowns continued their hard work and were determined to send the message that they couldnft be beat.Later, as the ranch contestants headed to the gym for some extra workout time, they discovered a gift from the unknowns. The unknowns also sent a note that said they hoped the gift would help them feel better after losing the previous weekfs weigh-in. Furthermore, the unknowns anticipated it would help them when they lost this weekfs weigh-in as well.

The ranch contestants opened the box and was surprised to see doughnuts. Rather than giving in to the temptation and letting the other team get the best of them, they carried the high-calorie sweets outside and took turns stomping on the boxes of two dozen donuts.

After everyone filed back into the gym, Arthur stayed behind and eyed the smashed doughnuts in the boxes on the ground. He confessed that they were his favorite and fought the urge to sample them as he carried the boxes to the dumpster. Although it was difficult, he threw all two dozen doughnuts away with taking even a little bite.

The next day some of the Biggest Loser ranch contestants met with Dr. H. The doc revealed Courtneyfs inner age (40). Next, he met with Olivia and Hannah. Olivia, being an opera singer, learned that she had so much fat pushing up into her diaphragm that it made it hard for her to take a deep breath, which, of course, affects her career, because as Dr. H pointed out, she canft hold a note for very long. Then Dr. H told Don that his brother, Dan, didnft have much longer to live if he continued living an unhealthy lifestyle. To give Dan a bit of motivation, Dr. H let him speak to his daughter on the phone. Finally, Arthur learned that his inner age was 60, and to brighten the mood, Arthur received a surprise visit from his sister and new niece, and, naturally, Jesse met his new granddaughter for the first time.

Soon after the Biggest Loser contestants saw Dr. H, they received a video message from the unknowns. In the video, the unknowns revealed the identity of the individual and team who lost the most weight the previous week. Moreover, they told Bob and Jillianfs team how many calories theyfd burned so far, and the numbers were in the thousands. Rather than the video getting them down, they used it as motivation to get back in the gym.

Before the ranch contestants could return to the gym, though, they joined Alison in Long Beach for their physical challenge, which was another competition against the unknowns. For this challenge, they had to build a bridge with rafts. Then their entire team had to make their way across the bridge. Earlier in the day, the unknowns took part in the challenge and built their bridge in 38 minutes and 23 seconds. Therefore, to win the challenge, Bob and Jillianfs team had to beat the unknownsf time. The winning team received a 3-pound advantage to use at the weigh-in.

After Bob and Jillianfs team spent a few minutes discussing various strategies, Alison sounded the air horn signaling it was time to start building the bridge. Without a clear plan, the teams had no choice but to assemble the bridge the best way they knew how. Unlike the unknowns, who worked together, the Biggest Loser ranch contestants failed to work together as a team, so they lost the challenge.

At the resort, Kaylee told her father how proud she was of him, which brought him to tears. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Bob learned that the contestants lost the challenge. Regardless, he motivated them and they headed to the gym for their Last Chance Workout. Since Jillian wasnft feeling well, Bob handled the workout on his own.

While Bob was handling the Last Chance Workout at the ranch, the unknown trainers had their team outside boxing their way through their own Last Chance Workout. Not only were the unknowns working out harder than wefve ever seen past Biggest Loser contestants work out, they were confident that theyfd win the weigh-in challenge.

Before Alison kicked off the weigh-in, she announced that the unknowns had another successful weigh-in with one of their team members losing 17 pounds (Rulon), another with a total weight loss of 53 pounds in two weeks (Moses), and 10 others who lost a combined total of 79 pounds. With the unknownsf 3-pound advantage, they lost a combined grand total of 82 pounds (2.46 percent). To beat the unknowns, the ranch contestants had to lose a combined total of more than 78 pounds.

¡Irene lost 10 pounds (.31 percent).
¡Don (8 pounds) and Dan (5 pounds) lost a combined total of 13 pounds.
¡Olivia (6 pounds) and Hannah (6 pounds) lost a combined total of 12 pounds.
¡Jennifer (8 pounds) and Jay (10 pounds) lost a combined total of 18 pounds.
¡Courtney (10 pounds) and Marci (6 pounds) lost a combined total of 16 pounds.
¡Arthur (13 pounds) and Jesse (8 pounds) lost a combined total of 21 pounds.
Together, the Biggest Loser ranch contestants beat the unknowns with a combined weight loss of 90 pounds (2.81 percent). Although they felt like underdogs before they weighed in, they walked out of the weigh-in feeling on top of the world.

Biggest Loser Season 11 Recap: Meet the Trainers

Posted Image
NBC

After two weeks of not knowing who the new Biggest Loser trainers were, we learned their identities. Cara Castronuova is a two-time Golden Glove champion who overcame many of her own battles, and now she wants to help the Biggest Loser contestants fight their weight battles. Next, we have kickboxer and veteran trainer Brett Hoebel. Brett can relate to the contestants, because he was an overweight teenager. Now that he¡¯s healthier, he wants to teach others how to live a long, healthy and happy life.

At the resort, the unknowns felt what it was like to lose. While they discussed losing the weigh-in to the ranch contestants, the unknowns confronted Austin and Q. They felt as if Austin and Q weren¡¯t working out as hard as everyone else.

Outside the ranch, Bob and Jillian¡¯s team met with Alison for a challenge. Before Alison explained the rules and revealed the prize, two black vans with tinted windows pulled up. Naturally, the contestants knew it was the unknowns.

As soon as the unknowns were out of the van and standing behind a wall that served as a divider between them and the ranch contestants, Alison let both teams know one of the unknown contestants and one of the ranch contestants would get together to meet with chef Curtis Stone. Moreover, Curtis would also have a challenge for each of them. The winner of Curtis¡¯ challenge would receive a 2-pound advantage.

NBC

To win the awesome prize, the teams balanced an egg on the backside of a frying pan. Before starting the challenge, the unknowns decided to throw the competition so Denise could win the prize. They stuck with their plan, and within less than a minute after the challenge started, everyone on the unknowns, except for Denise, counted down from six then launched their eggs over the divider at the ranch contestants.

Unlike the unknowns, the ranch contestants didn¡¯t have four weeks of immunity, so they each fought for the 2-pound advantage that they needed to hopefully keep them safe another week. In the end, Marci won the reward.

After the egg challenge, Dr. H visited with some of the unknowns. During their visits with the Biggest Loser doctor, 27-year-old Q learned that his inner age was 51. Justin cried when he discovered his inner age (59), while Austin found out his inner age was 44. Dr. H informed Sara that her body-fat percent ¡ª 58 ¡ª is higher than any contestant they¡¯ve ever had, including Rulon. Finally, Moses received quite a bit of shocking news. First, the doc told him that he has a 40 percent chance of having a stroke and a 90 percent chance of developing diabetes. On top of all that, Dr. H predicted Moses would die on April 23, 2025, which means he¡¯d be in his early 60s.

Outside the Biggest Loser gym, Bob chatted with Hannah and Olivia. He helped Hannah remember the athlete she once was. Hannah admitted she gave up on herself after her car accident, but said she¡¯s ready to change.

Jillian sat outside with Don and Dan. As they lounged under a tree, Dan spoke with Jillian about the loss of his son. Needless to say, it was a heartbreaking discussion.

Marci and Denise met up with Curtis Stone. He told them that to win the 2-pound advantage, they¡¯d have to tell him how many calories were in the dishes that he¡¯d prepare for them. Whoever came the closest would win the advantage.

As Chef Stone begin showing and explaining how to prepare a healthy salad and pan-fried halibut, Denise really wanted to learn, but she was more interested in trying to add up the calories of everything he was putting into the salad, so she could win the 2-pound advantage.

Soon after Denise and Marci enjoyed dinner and a chat, Curtis took them back to the kitchen to create dessert. After the ladies sampled the poached pear, Marci guessed the total calories of the whole meal as 480, and Denise guessed 440 calories. The total calories were 572, which meant Marci won the 2-pound advantage.

For their next challenge, the Biggest Loser ranch contestants pumped water into cue drums, which weighed over 100 pounds once filled. Once their drums were full, they had to pull them a quarter of a mile to fill the other teams¡¯ barrels. If they managed to stay above the yellow line at the weigh-in, the winning team would get the right to cast the sole vote at this week¡¯s elimination.

The aqua and orange team arrived at the barrels first, followed by the purple team. Those three teams immediately filled the blue team¡¯s barrel and knocked them out of the challenge. Since Irene had already faced the elimination room and didn¡¯t have a teammate, her competitors thought it would be best for her to have the only vote, so they avoided filling her barrel with water, and she won the challenge. Now all she had to do was avoid the yellow line to be safe and decide who would go home this week.

NBC

After the challenge, the contestants told Bob and Jillian they picked the winner of the challenge before it even started. The trainers thought that was a very sweet thing to do. Then Dan announced that even though he¡¯d like to stay on the ranch, he¡¯s prepared to go home. Jillian said it¡¯s okay to have a plan B, but she felt Dan still had a lot of work to do and needed to be there. Furthermore, Dan told everyone if he stayed above the yellow line, he¡¯d be willing to take another contestant¡¯s place below the yellow line. Neither Jillian nor Bob was fond of Dan¡¯s idea to take someone else¡¯s place, but instead of wasting time talking about it, they headed to the Biggest Loser gym for another grueling Last Chance Workout.

Alison filled the ranch contestants in on the weigh-in results for the unknowns. She announced that the results of their weigh-in were fantastic! The clip of the weigh-in showed us that Austin lost 15 pounds and Q lost 19.

Moments after Alison discussed the unknowns¡¯ weigh-in results, the ranch contestants weighed in.

¡öCourtney lost 6 pounds, and Marci lost 7 pounds. Aqua team¡¯s total weight loss was 13 pounds (2.91 percent with their 2-pound advantage).
¡öIrene lost 8 pounds (3.45 percent).
¡öJennifer lost 8 pounds, and Jay lost 14 pounds. Green team¡¯s total weight loss was 22 pounds (3.58 percent).
¡öArthur lost 4 pounds, and Jesse lost 9 pounds. Blue team¡¯s total weight loss was 13 pounds (1.75 percent).
¡öOlivia lost 6 pounds, and Hannah lost 6 pounds. Purple team¡¯s total weight loss was 12 pounds (2.58 percent).
¡öBoth Don and Dan gained 9 pounds. Black team¡¯s total weight gain was 18 pounds (+3.31 percent).
The Black team¡¯s weight gain left everyone¡¯s mouth hanging open. For a minute, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Then Bob told Don and Dan that he felt like they gave up. After Jillian sat on the step behind her, she told the guys they didn¡¯t look broken up about the situation. They assured her it does hurt them, and they apologized to both trainers. Regardless, Bob and Jillian walked out of the gym without accepting Don and Dan¡¯s apology. They headed to the elimination room to see which one of them Irene would send packing. Since Dan had voiced earlier that he was prepared to go home and missed his daughter, Irene voted to send Dan home.

At-home update: Since leaving the Biggest Loser ranch, Dan¡¯s lost a grand total of 72 pounds.

Biggest Loser Season 11, Week 4 Recap: Training With the Enemies

Posted Image
NBC

The Biggest Loser ranch contestants met with Alison in the gym. Alison told them that before the day ended, one of them would be leaving the ranch to join the unknowns for an entire week. That bit of news didn’t set well with the contestants, so to ensure their safety, the teams of two had to win a temptation challenge. Because Irene and Don’s partners were sent home, Alison told them they’d be a team.

The temptation, of course, was the ranch contestants’ favorite foods, which were stacked from the floor to the ceiling. To win, they had to consume the most calories, and the team that did that earned the right to choose which team would spend a week with the unknowns.

Posted Image
NBC

Everyone except for Arthur resisted his or her favorite foods. To win the temptation, Arthur ate a piece of fried chicken rather than the pizza (his favorite). He said he chose the chicken because he thought it had the least amount of calories. Since Arthur was the only one to eat anything, he won the challenge with 150 calories, and he and Jesse chose to send the strongest team, Jennifer and Jay, to the unknowns.

Jennifer and Jay arrived at the Biggest Loser resort. The unknowns greeted them both with hugs. After Jennifer explained why they were there, Jay told the unknowns they were happy to be there. Soon after, the new trainers met Jennifer and Jay, and they decided to take a few minutes to work with them privately, so they could see where Jennifer and Jay were. Once they showed Brett and Cara they were strong, Cara feared the others at the ranch might be strong as well.

Back at the Biggest Loser ranch, Jillian confronted Don about the weight gain at last week’s weigh-in. She felt Don and Dan meant to gain weight, but Don assured her it was just as much as a surprise to him. She didn’t believe him, though, and thought he’d given up. He said he had not given up, but she still didn’t believe it and thought he was holding back some anger, which she did get him to release. Before Don became angry, he turned to the cameras and told them to get the bleeper ready. After that, he proceeded to curse. He admitted that he felt better afterwards.

Meanwhile, back at the resort, Jennifer and Jay learned that life on the resort appeared to be much better than the ranch. At the resort, the unknowns have a bigger pool, their meals are prepared for them and their calories counted, and someone cleans up after them. Regardless of the luxurious living conditions, Jennifer and Jay also learned that the workouts are far more intense than on the ranch.

Jennifer and Jay rejoined the ranch contestants for the physical challenge. Before explaining the challenge, Alison told Jennifer and Jay that since they were living with the unknowns for the week, they’d also be competing for them, so it was two against eight. With that in mind, the teams learned that to win letters from home, they had to guess how many calories were in the food that was presented to them at the temptation challenge. Furthermore, they had to pull their calorie guess — one digit at a time — 78 feet above their heads. If they got the digit correct, a green light flashed. If they guessed incorrectly, an arrow lit up to let them know whether they needed to go higher or lower. To win, one team had to guess all four digits correctly. Since it was eight against two, Biggest Loser leveled the playing field by making the team of eight’s digits heavier than Jennifer and Jay’s.

The team of eight guessed right from the start, but Jennifer and Jay weren’t far behind. Although each team worked behind a divider, the team of eight called numbers out loud, and Jennifer and Jay were able to eavesdrop.

In the end, the Green team was ahead, but they got the last digit wrong. The other team saw that they had a 3 and that the number was higher, so they hurried and hoisted the 4 up and won the challenge. The total calories were 8,754, and the team of eight’s letters from home fell from the sky. They quickly gathered their letters and read them aloud while Jennifer and Jay headed back to the resort.

Will Jennifer and Jay tell the unknowns about competing for them in the challenge and losing? Tune in to the Biggest Loser next week to discover the answer.

Biggest Loser Season 11 Week 5 Recap: Ready for Home

Posted Image
NBC

At the Biggest Loser resort, the new trainers prepared the unknowns for their transition to the ranch. While everyone was training as a team, Q felt he wasnft getting the burn in that he wanted, so he left his teammates to do his own workout, a workout he felt would give him the burn he was trying to accomplish. That decision brought him a scolding from his teammates and Cara. They thought what he did was disrespectful, but he did what he thought was best for himself and didnft regret his choice.

The ranch contestants trained with Bob and Jillian in the gym. Jillian believed it was time for Hannah to challenge herself, so she called her over to perform a back bend. When Hannah fell down the stairs quite some time ago, she had emergency back surgery. Since the accident, shefs had a fear of hurting her back again. However, when Jillian asked Hannah to do a bridge, she trusted Jillian. With Jillian assisting Hannah by supporting her back, Hannah successfully completed the bridge.

Soon after their workout, the ranch contestants headed to the weigh-in. Before weighing in, Jen and Jay returned and shared a little bit of their experience on the Biggest Loser resort. They told their fellow competitors it was a very different experience, and when Alison asked if they regretted choosing the ranch over the resort, they both agreed that they didnft regret the choice theyfd made.

¡Jen lost 6 pounds, and Jay lost 9 pounds. The green team lost a total of 15 pounds (2.53 percent).
¡Arthur lost 9 pounds, and Jesse lost 3 pounds. The blue team lost a total of 12 pounds (1.65 percent).
¡Courtney lost 10 pounds, and Marci lost 3 pounds. The aqua team lost a total of 13 pounds (2.58 percent).
¡Olivia lost 5 pounds, and Hannah lost 3 pounds. The purple team lost a total of 8 pounds (1.77 percent).
¡Irene and Don shocked everyone when the scales revealed that theyfd both gained 6 pounds.
Hannah was so happy about her weight loss that she thanked Jillian for helping her do a back bend. She told everyone that was a life-changing moment for her, and she expressed to Jillian how much it meant to her that she encouraged her. That moment left Jillian in tears.

Don admitted he and Irenefs weight gain was intentional. He went on to say he discovered that the Biggest Loser ranch wasnft for him. Because of that, he assumed Arthur and Jesse would fall below the yellow line. Don knew Arthur really needed and wanted to remain on the ranch, and he didnft want to take that opportunity from him, so Don confessed to deliberately gaining weight.

It was clear Don was ready to go home. Therefore, instead of allowing the ranch contestants time to discuss their elimination vote, Alison asked the Biggest Loser contestants who planned to vote for Don to raise their hands. Everyonefs hand went up, so Don went back home where he wanted to be. Before he left, he thanked Irene for her sacrifice.

The unknowns returned to the Biggest Loser ranch to rejoin their competitors. The ranch contestants were amazed at how different they looked. The unknowns, of course, commented on how much smaller the ranch contestants looked as well.

Moments after all the unknowns were back on the ranch, Alison had a challenge for the ranch contestants: If they could lose more weight than they did last week (over 48 pounds), theyfd earn immunity for the week. As for the unknowns, Alison reminded them that their four-week immunity run was up, and they would be sending someone from their team home this week.

Posted Image
NBC

The returning contestants headed to the Biggest Loser gym for their workout. Brett and Cara continued their usual boxing training in addition to having the contestants take advantage of the equipment. Knowing one of them would be going home this week, the new trainers put them through a tougher workout.

Later, all the contestants met in the gym to learn their physical challenge for the week. Because the ranch contestants only had to beat their weigh-in number as a group from last week for all of them to earn immunity, only the returning contestants took part in this weekfs challenge, and the prize for one team was immunity for the fifth week in a row.

To win immunity for their team, one person from each team had to carry weights and place it on their opposing teamsf scales. The moment a teamfs scale had 500 pounds, that team was eliminated from the competition. The last team standing won immunity.

The gray teamfs strategy was to knock out the weakest teams, so they targeted the red team first. The minute the challenge began, it appeared as if the other teams had the same plan as the gray team, because they all placed weights on the red teamfs scale. Naturally, the red team was shocked. They figured everyone would pull together and give the win to the team that most needed to be on the ranch.

After the red team was eliminated from the competition, everyone targeted the brown team. However, the brown team noticed that the pink team was the first team to start loading the weights on their scale, so before the brown team was eliminated, they quickly raced to place as many weights as they could on the pink teamfs scale.

With the red and brown teams out of the running for immunity, the pink team assumed no one would go after them, which is why they were shocked when the yellow and gray team targeted them.

Posted Image
NBC

Once the pink team was out, it was between the yellow and gray team. The gray team had a head start, but the yellow team caught up by placing the heaviest weights on the gray teamfs scale. The yellow teamfs last-minute strategy paid off, and they won immunity.

Back in the Biggest Loser gym, Bob and Jillian told their team they were confident in their ability to lose more than 48 pounds as a group and win immunity. Still, that didnft mean their Last Chance Workout was going to be easy.

The Biggest Loser contestants headed to the weigh-in. To see if theyfd win immunity, Alison started the weigh-in with Bob and Jillianfs team.

The total combined weight loss for Bob and Jillianfs team was 63 pounds, which meant they won immunity. Next up was Brett and Carafs team. Excluding the yellow team, who won immunity at the challenge, someone from one of the other teams would be going home.

Alison allowed Larialmy and Q an hour to let their teammates know why they wanted to stay on the Biggest Loser ranch. It didnft take Larialmy and Q long to tell everyone that they both agreed Q needed to stay on the ranch more. With that announcement, Justin told Q that before he placed his vote, he wanted to hear Q tell his wife that he would start working harder while hefs on the ranch. Q did as Justin requested, but it still left doubts in many minds.

In the end, Q and Larialmyfs teammates put their personal feelings aside and honored Q and Larialmyfs request, so Larialmy said goodbye to her husband and the friends she made while at the resort working out with the new trainers.
