Melanie sat in the bar drowning her sorrows in a bottle of whiskey. She couldn't believe what a mess she made of her life. I should have just stayed faithful to Christian then none of this would have happen. It was all Elizabeths fault. No, No Melanie you are not going down that rode again. Take responsibility for your actions. Its all your fault. Nobody elses. Melanie had nothing else to say so she ordered another bottle for her to drink. |

Matt took the note and shoved it into his dresser, not wanting any reminder of Morgan. He didn't want to deal with the pain. He grabbed his keys and drove to a nearby bar, walking in and taking a seat. He quickly ordered an entire bottle of scotch and started to pour himself a big glass. |

Melanie looked up from her third bottle and saw Matt. She wanted to say something to him because she saw he was in pain but then she remembered that it might be her fault so she just asked for another bottle. |

"So, what's got you so upset?" Matt asked Melanie, noticing her next to him. |

Melanie turned and looked at him. "Life." She didn't know if he recognized her because of her makeover. "What about you?" |

"The same," he sighed, taking a swig of alcohol. He extended his hand. "I'm Matt. I don't think we've met..." |

She knew once he looked at her he probably would recognize her. She looked up at him. "Yeah we have." |

Matt raised his eyebrow. "Melanie? So, did you just lose someone you love?" |

She nodded. "Yeah I guess you can say that. What about you?" |

"You could say the same, I guess. Morgan was my best friend," Matt started, taking another swig of alcohol. "Shouldn't you be off scheming to get your doctor?" |

Melanie sighed. "No the explosion must have turned on my brain or something because I realized that he doesn't want me and that I was the one looking desperate and sad in the end. I'm sorry about Morgan." |

"Yeah, well it's not like it's your fault," Matt sighed. "I just wish I knew who is responsible so I could make them pay." |

"Yeah, well, I'll be first in line. My brother's leg could be permanently damaged; my best friend is dead. I'll personally take down whoever planted that bomb and everybody they love." |

Melanie sighed. It might be better if I left town before everyone kills me. "Why would you hurt the people that person loves?" |

Melanie was afraid for Sly and the rest of her family. "But Matt could you honestly hurt innocent people?" |

"No, but I could definitely hurt guilty ones. I'm not going to kill anyone, I'm just going make them pay." |

"Why are you protecting the snake that did this?" Matt snapped, looking at her. "You almost died too. You're lucky that Patrick found you when he did." |

The snake just might be me. "I know but I learned a long time ago that if you go through life seeking revenge..well thats not the type of life you want to live." |

Matt sighed. Maybe she was right. "I just want to erase the bomb; go back to how things were." |

"So, I still don't get it," Matt started, pouring her another drink. "Why are you so bummed? You have this new resolve, you're over Dr. Hottie... what's wrong?" |
