I drove to Alexis's Lakehouse to see her before I headed home. My entire fortune had been wiped out by a man I'd never even met, and now I'd been forced to live over Kelly's with my 2 year old son. I was hoping Alexis could offer me some legal advice. I picked John up out of his carseat and knocked on Alexis's door. |

I was sitting in my living room, bombarded with cases that the mayor had assigned me to. I heard a knock on the door, and this was the break I needed. I closed the files and made my way over to the door. I opened the door to see my best friend, Jasper Jacks and his two year old son, John. "Jax, what a pleasent surprise. " I said to him as his two year old son smiled at me. |

"Hello, Alexis," I said as John bashfully buried his head on my shoulder. "How's my favorite ex-wife doing tonight?" |

"I think John is shy in front of Aunt Alexis." I smiled at the little boy, although his head was burried over his fathers' shoulder. "I'm good, how is my favorite ex husband?" I asked. "It has been ages since I've seen the two of you." |

"Well, kind of bad actually," I said. "I'm broke, Alexis. I lost everything." |

Jasper Jacks broke, those word were not used together, ever. I stepped to the side so Jax could come in. When he did, I shut the door. "Mind enlightening me on what happened?" I ask him. "Can I get you something to drink?" I asked my best friend, politely. |

"I'll just take a water," I said. "It started when I met my old college friend Jacob. We hadn't seen each in other in years. We were the best of friends, so I gave him a job working as one of my investors. I thought I could trust him, but... six months ago, I started seeing that someone was embezzling money, but whoever it was was covering their tracks really well." I put John on the floor so he could walk around. "I didn't suspect Jacob yet, but by the time I'd learned the truth, I'd lost it all. My best friend stole my fortune right from under me, then disappeared." |

I poured him some water and handed it to him, and with that, three year old Molly came out into the living room and spotted her cousin, John, who she played nicely with. I listened to what he had said. "Okay, not to be the bearer of bad news but, there is very minimal on what you can do." I say. "I can have a private investigator get started on looking for him, first thing tomorrow morning." I explain. "Where are you and John staying." ooc: I don't know if Molly is ages here, I just threw her in here. |

"We're staying in a room over Kelly's," I told her. "All I need to do is find Jacob and I'll be able to... persuade him to give me back what's mine. This isn't about me anymore, this is about John's future." OOC: We had a teenage Molly, but she stopped posting long ago after just a few posts, so I think we can disregard those posts for the time being. |

"Okay, I'll have a P.I start looking for him first thing in the morning." I tell him. I cared about what happened to Jax, along with his John. Jax was my good friend, and he didn't deserve this, not one bit. "And for the time being I want the two of you to move into my old apartment." I said. 'Remember the one I was in before I moved to the Lakehouse..well, I kept it just in case I didn't like it here, it was just a back up plan for me and I don't intent on using it." |

"Don't be so darn stubborn, I know your a Jacks but, I would really like it if you'd accept." I said. "I know it's not the biggest but, I think it would be perfect for you and John." |

"Well, it is better than the rooms above Kelly's," I told her. "I really appreciate this, Alexis. I'll make it up to you, I promise." |

"Don't worry about it, Jax. I just hope my private investigator can find the idiot who did this to you." I said. I had other words I would have liked to use but, both Molly and John were there. "And I still have a lot of stuff in the apartment, and Mollys' old crib is still there." I told him. 'And it's not pink with flowers and hearts on it." I explained. "It's a basic white, feel free to use anything in the apartment." |

"I don't mind helping you Jax." I say. "I just have some cases from the D.A's office I need to get to by next week." I explain. "With the Mayor around, I don't get a break but, it does keep me on my toes." I smiled. "How has John been behaving, he's gotten so big since I've seen him." I say as I smiled at the little boy who was playing with my daughter. |

"Well, he's been a handful," I said. "I've finally got him almost fully potty trained, which was a battle in itself." |

"He looks more and more like you everytime I see him. " I told Jax, with a smile. "Besides the mess your in, how have you been?" I asked him. "I'm worried for you, you've been through hell the past year or so." I told my best friend, sincerley. |

"I've been good," I told her. "Luckily I've had John to keep me focused on what's important. I've finally gotten my life to a point where beautiful women and money aren't the most important things to anymore. This little guy and good friends like you are what matters most." |

"I'm just sorry that things like this have happened to you, if anyone deserves happiness, its you." I say. After his heartache from Brenda, years ago, he deserved to be happy. I had come to believe that I was done with all relationships. I was healthy now, and so was my fifteen year old daughter Kristina, and my three year old, Molly. "He is such a well behaved baby, or so it seems." I smiled a bit. |

"Well, he does have his mischievious streak," I told her. "And if it's anyone who deserves happiness, it's you. You're a hardworking women raising two daugthers on your own. You deserve it far more than I do." |

"I've given up on any hope of finding a decent man because it doesn't work out for me, it never has." I say. "And I vowed to myself that after Ric, and the messy divorce we went through, I wouldn't allow myself to get involved again." I added. "My cancer was put into remission four months ago, and I'm healthy as I can be and so are my girls, and thats all I can really ask for." I tell him. "It gets lonely sometimes but, sometimes thats better than being somewhere where I'm not happy." |

"I'm sorry RIc hurt you," I told her. "I've never understood why that man was never ran out of town. You're a great woman, Alexis, and one day you're going to find that man who was meant to be with you. I hated seeing you in so much during your cancer. I just wish I could have been there for you more." |

"Ric did hurt me and, people warned me, you especially." I tell him. "But, being who I am, I didn't listen and I wanted to find good in Ric, and I did but, the bad in him outweighed the good I found." I added. "Jax, I didn't let anyone in during the cancer, but I could handle because it was random but, with Ric, that was different." I explain. "I just think I'm better off, alone. I shouldn't say alone because I have my girls, but single is more like it." |

"Don't say that," I told her. "Of all my ex-wives, you're the one that I'm closest to. Sometimes I feel like I should never have divorced you. You're the only one that's ever treated me decently after we got married." |
