It is the year 1870. The American Civil War has ended scarcely five years ago, leaving the country still torn apart. Some of the inhabitants chose to remain in their homes, while the others chose to move. Quite a number of the latter picked Wild West as their final destination. The living example of this are the inhabitants of Juarezville, a small but growing town located in Texas. Very few of them had been originally born here-the greatest part of them has arrived in the last five years. The community has got all kinds of people-children, women, men, elders...Their positions are also various; there are the rich and the highly placed, the middle class, and the poor. The town is not known for its low criminal activity-there are plenty of outlaws around.

The difficulties are not all Juarezville knows. One can have plenty of fun around here. Firstly, the people are open and friendly(with a few exceptions), ready to welcome anyone new or unknown to them. They live for strangers and breaths of fresh air to their lives; news from their former homes, from the north, the south, the east. There are the dances, the parties, far more open than those in the more 'civilized' parts of the country. Heaven for criminals is not what Juarezville actually is, but it is relatively easy to use your own law and get by the real one.

The Native Americans are not as much of a trouble as some would like them to be. There are warrior tribes, but most of them would not attack unprovoked. Unfortunately, there are a lot of provokers eager for conflicts in the town. Currently, they haven't done any visible damage to the relations, but the tension is starting to build up gradually and securely.

Life here is not all that terrible, even thoguh it might seem so at first.

Everybody gets used to all the hardships and learns how to live with them day by day.

Or perhaps you want to prove us otherwise?

Then by all means, do. Join.

And make a life for yourself here.

As every town, Juarezville has got its share of gossip-secret romances, affairs and schemes. The queen of the gossip would probably be Mrs. Agatha Waverly , wife to Sergeant Thomas Waverly , who, despite the fact he is a retired Northern Army officer, is still addressed by his rank. Mrs. Waverly always knows everything that is happening around Juarezville, and if you ever tell her something, it is bound to be known by half the town the morning after. She has got her circle of friends, but most of the other inhabitants utterly dislike her for her tendency to blab things. Her worst enemy, and her most common topic, is Louise Smith, the owner of the town's brothel. Louise's family used to own a vast plantation down South, before the Civil War. When it was all taken away from them in the war, she, as the only surviving member of the family, traveled here with her newborn son, Stanley. There is a lot of tension between her and the Northern-born inhabitants, but nobody is as venomous to her as Mrs. Waverly.

Louise's best friend is, at her father's utter displease, Miss Samantha Main , the daughter of the town's mayor, Anthony Main. Also coming from the South, Samantha does not mind the fact Louise is a lady of the night and a brother owner. Her family had been greatly impoverished in the war as well, so she understands the other woman perfectly. Samantha's older brother, Joshua Main , has chosen to become an outlaw after a fight with his father. He had never coped well with the loss of the family fortune. The word has it he has reached a high position in the band, and that they are planning on attacking Juarezville pretty soon. That is the worry of the town's Sheriff, John McKenzie. A retired Northern Colonel, he has assumed the position here a year ago. Stern but fair, he enjoys great popularity among the inhabitants. His assistant, Simon O’Brien , is known as quite a ladies' man. He is probably Louise's best customer. Some say that he intends on further involvement with her...

Where would the town be without its store? Run by Jack O’Hara , it brings his family a steady income. But, it is said that Jack is cheating on his wife Dominique, with none else but the town's beauty, Miss Ashton Ryan. Dominique has not remained faithful to him as well-people have seen her lurking around the Mayor's home for quite a few nights...

Ashton Ryan's ex-lover, Charles Truscott, is currently the head of the outlaw gang threatening Juarezville. He is told to be ruthless and evil beyond imagination, but how comes Ashton recalls him as a charming young man gentle and caring to her? What has happened to him that changed him so?

The Waverly’s' daughter, Miss Molly Waverly, is said to be deeply in love with Joshua Main. Will she seek him outside of town, despite her parents' objections against him? Or is she going to find comfort in the arms of Damien Stewart , a man rich but many years her senior?
