And check the seller's ratings. I don't order from anyone with less than 98.7%.

I only go for bargains on eBay so a disappointment is no big deal. The quality varies from excellent to junk. I did find a perfect match for my friend's barbecue igniter for half the price his normal supplier charges (he is a retired appliance repairman).

Give it a try - it's fun!
First sign up for a PayPal.ca account. Only use eBay.ca so all prices appear in our dollars as well as US. Be aware of shipping charges. Things from China are usually free shipping and take a month to come.
I have ordered from Amazon. China has a special postal deal with companies exporting.

Consider toaster ovens as disposable...same with microwave ovens.
I even have an extra toaster oven in the closet that campy is welcome to if he knows anyone visiting in NYC who can pick it up. I don't mail anything to anyone unless it will fit in a business sized envelope. Shipping packages seems to me as complicated as a moon shot..and WAY overpriced, especially across the Canadian border.
I even stopped getting my cyclamate sweetner (best tasting sugar substitute, legal in Canada but not in the U.S.) because shipping costs more than the product.

How come AAA rechargeables have disappeared from dollar stores? I ordered some from eBay.
I have NEVER seen rechargeables at a dollar store and I shop at them a LOT.

What sweetener is that?

My friend uses Splenda.

There is a way of shipping parcels from Canada so that they get the letter rate.

If it's in a flat package envelope and fits into a slot at the post office, it can be mailed at letter rate.

But remember Trotsky if you are paying in Canadian funds, you are getting a 30% discount on the exchange rate.

From Canada I used to buy sodium cyclamate as two brands. One was SWEETA and the other cheaper one's name escapes me ( looked it up SUGAR TWIN). I could buy as a liquid or granular.

I really despise the taste of SPLENDA and use EQUAL (aspartame) as my calorie free sweetener. But cyclamate tastes most like sugar...even better. But the U.S. FDA banned cyclamate in order to enrich Monsanto (maker of Equal.)

It is probably more prudent to use sugar than those artificial sweeteners. I shudder every time I see one of those packages. My solution was don't bring any sugar into the house. I use to eat from 2 to 5 pounds weekly years ago, then quit cold turkey.

My family is not interested in sugar substitutes, except possibly xylitol.
DW made a dessert using it and the same with real sugar. Our discerning guests couldn't tell the difference. Interesting stuff. Don't let dogs have it.

Was there a queue for the bathroom after the meal? Xylitol is a terrific laxative.

I bought ONE 5 pound bag of sugar since we moved here in 2010. It is still half full.
It must be a decade or two since I had my last sugary soda (I drink about 8 ounces of diet soda with dinner.)

Last month I tried sugar in my coffee. It is not as good as Equal.

I cannot imagine drinking a cup of coffee anymore with sugar or anything sweet in it. I like the 'robustness'. But i can't stand it without milk or cream.

I like my coffee to have the creamy look and do have a teaspoon of sugar. My tea I drink straight up without anything!

I didn't drink coffee regularly for many years. Just starting again and find I like it diluted at least five times compared to other people. The flavour is fine at that level and I get a wake up for a while and no interference with sleep.

If I followed the instructions on my coffee maker and coffee can I couldn't drink it. Way too strong. Approximately half of the recommendations.

My coffee pot came with the formula:
<# of cups (6 ounce) +2> / 2 = #of scoops (1 fluid ounce or 2 Tbs.) of ground coffee. It usually works out very well.
Chock Full of Nuts used to come with the ideal sized scoops. I treasure my few remaining scoops.
