I use a hand grater for a piece of Romano. I grate it right onto the pasta. (Sometimes with a little blood.)

I don't buy Parmesan (cow) period...don't care for it.
I much prefer and buy only Peccorino Reggiano (sheep.)

At last count we had three Cuisinart food processors and two stick blenders, spread among our two houses.

I bought the first of their food processors when it became available in Canada back in the 1970s and can't think of another kitchen appliance that has made such a difference.
