I put an add on Kijiji for a free
32" flat screen t.v. with stand and digital converter.."great picture"
I got a reply, "can delivery be arranged."

Flustered by the chutzpah,
I couldn't think of a suitable response beyond a "no".

I put a 52" projection TV on Kijiji a few months ago, works great for $75. Some guy wanted it for free, and also wanted me to deliver it as well to take it off my hands. There are lots of genuine buyers, but it's the minority of scammers and low ballers that you have to weed out. I never post my phone number, and say to contact me by email. That way I can weed out the undesirables, and then give my cell phone number to the positive people to contact me so I control the contact process.

Some charities and scrap dealers pick TVs up free. I left one on my doorstep and it was taken, same think with an old microwave which I put out on garbage day. It was gone within 5 minutes.

I put my14' aluminum fishing boat on Kijiji on a Sunday night. I wanted $2k but listed it for $2.1k. Got a call on Monday from a fellow in Scarborough (2hours away) asking to see it. We arranged to meet on Tuesday!
He arrived with his wife on Tuesday, he inspected everything and offered me $2k which I accepted. His wife pealed off the $2k in cash and away went the boat! I had to sign the ownership transfer papers.

Good for you, wildie. Was the buyer able to haul it away without you packing it up and Fed-Exing it? laugh123

Did it include a motor?

I listed my 5th wheel hitch last spring on Kijiji after I sold out trailer. The hitch was a specialized model, built specifically for a Ford truck and wouldn't fit in any other. I expected to have a long wait, since it was fairly pricey (900+) with a targeted customer base. 2 days after I put it on, on a Monday morning, I got a email from a guy about 300 kms north of me that wanted it. He said he would pay for it in full with an email transfer, but couldn't pick it up right away. I was a bit cautious and dubious, but said OK, and in about 15 minutes had the full amount transferred to my bank, and the deal was done. The hitch sat in my garage for about 2 months, until it was picked up by his Dad, never did meet the guy who bought it, but it was one of the easiest sales I've made, and I've sold quite a bit on Kijiji. I always ask at least 10% more than I want, some will try to dicker with you, others just pay the full amount no questions asked... bonus. yeah199

I still have my 'free to any' TV.
I put a shower enclosure out on the curb once. It was in good shape, heavy alumnium, but I wanted a new lighter weight one. I guy pulled up in a ttruck and was looking it over. I went out to tell him it had naught wrong with it but before I could he asked me if all the screws, bolts etc. were there..(how should I know I just stripped it off the wall and tub..?
I thought fast and answered not sure is the colour ok? I got a mumbling soto voice..suggesting an unsolicited $%#@^!&^%
