Neighbours two doors down from us were evicted from their house in October., the story being they had "a high risk mtge" and lender screwed them over by not applying payments!! We met these people during our dog walks and were friendly with the girl age 43. Whatever, don't care about their business, however male partner of 5 years, wasn't allowed near the house, as it was in his name. Each time she had to go in for something, she'd call my husband to be present with the "credit agency people". I did not want him to be involved, however Dec. they finally moved into a rental in another part of the city. They however asked my DH who is ("easy" and people pick up on this), if he would pick up their mail and bring it to our house. I'm thinking why not get it redirected to your new address??? It is now apparent, he was trying to avoid creditors! Wednesday the process servers banging on our door. We were not home however our son was, they were rude, ignorant, and aggressive, wanted son to sign for this guy's legal warrants. he said I don't know this guy, who are you? Identified they were from a credit agency, this fellow is in arrears to many people including 54000.00 in back child payments! They knew his mail was being delivered here, obviously he's been under survelliance! Enough says I, as i texted the lady, didn't have his # or he would've be my point of contact. She apologizes and says I'm sorry this is Buddy's problem I will forward your msge. I replied with I no longer want your mail coming here. I do not need your creditors hammering on my door looking for Buddy! She replied I will tell Buddy, 2 minutes later he is texting my DH, apologizing, but doesn't offer to redirect the mail. I went back to her again with my request. She said the mail has been STOPPED, to be assured i also spoke to the mail carrier. I have lived in many cities, encountered many people, but the ignorance of some people in this city is beyond comprehension.

My DH says it's not a crime to have their mail here. I said it is to me, as he's using us to avoid his creditors, and I don't want any involvement! This guy is very full of himself, brags about his law degree, his PHD his MBA, if any of this is true, he best go back and take money mgmt. 101. She had previously told me they had to take out a high risk mtge. as his X wife had put him into debt. I highly doubt that some how, and quite frankly could care less. Thursday the credit people were back again, we were gone and son did not answer the door. I don't know if they think we're harboring this guy in our basement or what. As a former cop DH's instincts are waning, maybe it's due to age! I however think after my last forthright correspondence our contact will be over, hopefully.

Their story sounded bogus from the first sentence you wrote.

People like that take advantage of people, who, like your husband, are fair minded and inclined to help out.

Having been in the employ of a bank for many years I was skeptical. However I'm also aware when you rely on "high risk lending" it's paramount to borrowing from a "cash store". He's very bright but also very litigious. The finance company put the house on the market for one day. He got a judge to issue an injuction on his behalf, the sign was down and removal of the eviction notice. The last communication was, it would all be over in March. I said so you're moving back? He skirted that question, with we think we will continue to rent, less hassle!! Rent for a 6 bedroom home to accommodate her 2 and his 3 kids will be 4000.00 per month! He supposedly consults, travelling to Dubai fairly often and according to her is now in the employ of a law firm down town, studying to pass the bar!!! She's a nurse I don't know why she doesn't push him to the curb! It's true I guess, love is blind.
