Anyone running Windows 10, as of Apr 11, the latest Creators update is due to arrive by staged rollout through the Windows update facility. For those who want to update their computers to the Creators version ahead of time, you can follow the link in your Update and Security screen or visit this site. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4014184/windows-10-creators-update-here I just completed the update on an older Acer 64 bit, it took about 90 minutes from start to finish, but the update completed without issue. Everything is up and running as before, I haven't checked out all the new features yet. As with previous major system upgrades, if you have issues, you can go back to the previous version within 10 days. For me, it looks OK , IMO if this older Acer can update without issue, my other PCs will as well. Now the fun begins to see what is new and exciting. |

I downloaded Windows 10 sometime last year, since then 2 photo programmes, Windows Movie Maker & Photo story3 does not operate like it used to, the CD/DVD Burner now only burns certain files when before W.10 it burnt any file. Plenty of people are having the same problems and there is no fix to them even though Microsoft says otherwise. I have read where companies are suing Microsoft (not that they will miss the money) for not alerting them to the problems if downloading W.10. |

There have been changes with every new release since Windows 3.1, and with every new platform comes those who say the previous was better, and yada, yada, yada. I've used every Microsoft platform since Win 3.1, every one, and yes there were some problems with compatibility of older software, I found most of the issues related to user knowledge problems and expectations. I have several PCs running the latest Windows 10, and I haven't found anything that I can't make work, even my old version of Office XP and Photofantasy works perfectly, just have to adjust the compatibility settings with some. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15078/windows-make-older-programs-compatible Regardless, the intent of my original post wasn't to praise or bellyache about Windows 10, if you don't have it then the post doesn't affect you. I was just making users who have Windows 10 and give a rat's butt aware that the latest major system update is due to load sometime soon, and be prepared for it. ll my computers are running Win10 and after becoming familiar with the product have no complaint. I have old 32 bit software that won't run on 64 bit machines so I keep one 32 bit machine in case I want run my old software. Win10 isn't a problem, its the o/s type (32/64 bit) where trouble can rear its ugly head. |

I have both 32 & 64 Win 10 PCs, so far no issues, and the software programs that I use runs equally well on both. (mind you there's a lot of good and bad software out there, and many didn't update compatibility for Windows 10) |

I gather this large update will automatically happen one of these days when I start up my win 10 computer. Better to do it at a convenient time I guess. I have another one that I haven't used so it probably has several updates to do. I still mostly use my good old XP computer but I can see its days are numbered. Even Firefox is not performing well - I had to switch to Chrome, which still works as before. |

There was little choice but for Microsoft to supply an update ..... And America was said to be dependent or reliant upon the "Information Technology" to maintain its global position and financial posture/success on the world stage. Nobody wants American made technology any more. "'Shadow Brokers' dump of NSA tools includes new Windows exploits". https://www.engadget.com/2017/04/14/shadow-brokers-release-also-suggest-nsa-spied-on-bank-transactio "Leaked NSA Malware Threatens Windows Users Around The World". https://theintercept.com/2017/04/14/leaked-nsa-malware-threatens-windows-users-around-the-world "Latest "Shadow Brokers" Leak Reveals NSA Hacked Most Windows Platforms; SWIFT Banks". http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-14/latest-shadow-brokers-leak-reveals-nsa-hacked-swift-belgium-hq "Protecting customers and evaluating risk". https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msrc/2017/04/14/protecting-customers-and-evaluating-risk You'll no doubt note that these exploits were used to infiltrate Middle Eastern banks.... Tweet (Edward Snowden): https://twitter.com/Snowden/status/852989758364147712 "Smoking-gun evidence that NSA could have prevented today's Windows security disaster, but chose not to. Microsoft needs to take real action." "What's particularly curious is that four of the exploits -- EternalBlue, EternalChampion, EternalRomance and EternalSynergy -- were fixed in an update just last month, on March 14th. https://www.engadget.com/2017/04/15/microsoft-says-it-already-patched-several-shadow-brokers-nsa-l https://tinyurl.com/kz592xp Because "The Shadow Brokers" listed what tools they had in January, it seemed like the NSA had to know this release could happen. If someone tipped off Microsoft about the flaws, then it's unclear who. Despite a long list of acknowledgments for security issues discovered and fixed in the March 2017 update, as @thegrugq points out, there's no name listed for the MS17-010 patch that fixed these.".
