HBO's special BIRTH OF A NATION is good television. It has little to do with the old movie of the same title, but is rather a pretty accurate, if grim, telling of the story of Nat Turner (and I won't give any more away lest some of you are not familiar with the name.) Watch it if you can but be prepared for some brutality. |

Nat Turner was the first and last serious attempt of the slaves at rebellion. The successful slave rebellion of Haiti scared the bewitches out of the slave-owner's. |
