Fuzzy, et al, Oh, the Bolshoi Ballet is coming to town (Lincoln Center) the last two weeks of July. Bob has his "I need a ticket" sign ready to go. If they sell standing room I will go to see THE TAMING OF THE SHREW...and wear my TENS unit. They are prominently featuring David Halberg as if to say " You guys aren't the only ones to get defectors." laugh123 Edited by Trotsky, Jul 13 2017, 02:47 AM.

Well spent indeed, including two variations I've never seen. It's interesting Bob picked the first dancer in the La Bayadere pas de trois, it's the 2nd one Derek Dunn, who really stands out for me. They all acquit themselves very well indeed, if a little aggressive in their attack at times, but I love how Dunn has captured the piece stylistically. It's amazing ffhow they can do this and not appear emasculated. It doesn't seem "off" at all. |

Derek Dunn struck me as too masculine...too grounded to the Earth, perhaps because he is somewhat stockier than the others. Did you notice how they all tried to avoid en pointe as much as possible? laugh123 In the past they offered standing room in the Orchestra for $20 but that was always at the Met. Now they will be at Koch Hall (formerly NY State theater, a bit smaller.) I'd pay that even if it meant the next day is spent in my recliner. Edited by Trotsky, Jul 13 2017, 02:55 AM.
