Did they earn money from this and did it go to a charity?

I don't know for sure Shorty, but from what I saw in the programme, I think any proceeds would go to one of the Diana's charities.

Indeed, without any hint of schmaltz, what really emerged here was that Diana’s most significant legacy was not her charity work or her own ability to empathise with ordinary people, important as those contributions were. Or even the extraordinary outpouring of public grief that attended her death. Rather her legacy was these two young princes who – even in the act of recalling their mother with unqualified love and joy – are transforming the face of the Royal family by being its most openly approachable and compassionate members yet.

It aired on HBO in the U.S. last night. I missed it...went to theater, and I am sure it will be repeated on the dozen HBO channels all this week.

I watched it last night. Very well done,, The love she had for her children was beautiful. They were above and beyond anything to her.
There was a lot of sadness and grief unfulfilled that you could detect. on both Prince's parts ..

I am quite certain this is not something they would be paid for.

What, in your estimation, did she do that would make you label her a 'bimbo'?

I observed Diana over the years and never saw or heard her utter anything approaching intelligence.
Two things immediately come to mind.

Diana and Fergy spending money on shopping in NYC all plastered on the evening news. Really?

Charlie was giving a speech with Dianna onstage as support. A kitten wandered on stage ands she immediately jumped up to cuddle the cat stealing Charlie's thunder. Gross iMO. Charlies has enough handicaps without his wife contributing.

She was a public figure and never once exhibited desirable traits. The eighteenth century Charities are an anachronism best buried. Support for I find almost repulsive. They held back necessary social reform for years.

Even Margaret Trudeau was an improvement. She flaunted her considerable sexuality and advocated smoking pot. Certainly entertaining.

She was much beloved by the British people, worked tirelessly in elimination of land mines. I cannot say I'm a fan of the Royals but I liked her, she brought a human touch to the Royals, along with improved blood lines contributing to her handsome boys. Her marriage was a shambles due to Charles's philandering with that ugly woman, through it all she maintained grace and dignity.

So, she shopped and loved animals, was not a genius and supported causes of which you do not approve. That is being a bimbo to you? A nasty word to use for an ordinary women unwisely married into an extraordinary position.
