"Post deleted by author." <Was that container $1200 to BUY or the monthly rent?> On HGTV they recently welded 2 school buses together to make a T-shaped ranch house. Not too bad. Edited by Trotsky, Aug 8 2017, 03:02 AM.

I just saw Season 2 of GRAND DESIGN, a Brit housing show on Netflix Streaming. Guy in North Ireland did containers, 4 of them that he got for 10,000£ for the lot. They must have been used a couple years because new are about 4,000£ each. He cut and welded two, side by side and then atop them sideways he laid the other two in a cross-like fashion. It took another 10,000£ for additional steel framing because it is only the corners of a container that have any compressive strength. The home was on a beautiful stream and in a setting worthy of leprechauns. The results were stellar. His goal was to get something like Falling Waters (Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece) and he achieved the cantilever look pretty well. He brought the whole thing in for about 120,000£.
