This afternoon we are seeing a production of BRIGADOON put on by the NYU Graduate School for the Arts. Their productions are always delicious and you can always pick out a couple kids that you KNOW you will see on Broadway or at the Met in a few years. THeir orchestra is really wonderful.

Last year they did a STUDENT PRINCE that could only be described as sublime.

(I have never seen Brigadoon before but I familiar with many of the songs.)

<Paella wiith a friend at Cafe Español afterwards.>

Yes, I can imagine they do a tremendous job, crackling with energy. Good exercise for them, Scottish accents!

Voices were good, songs were great, but the Scots accents were very heavy and hard to decifer. A nice afternoon overall, except for sitting in the draft of a powerful air conditioner (thank God my theater travel bag includes a flannel shirt.)

Brigadoon = Bridge over the Doon...Thank you Alan, I never thought of that.

It's a nice spot (in the scottish summer) ... it's where Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse danced and Brigadoon was filmed. An robh dùil agad ri stràc New York? laugh123

Trouble was, there was too much of THAT kind of language in the musical.
