Can this statement mean whar it says?

A thermostat located on your air conditioner's remote control precisely maintains preset room temperature, so you will remain comfortable at all times.

I imagine it is POSSIBLE, but do you believe any thermostats actually sit on the AC's remote control?

Trotsky. It maintains preset room temperature until you change the preset with the remote control. That's all it means.

Our sun room gas heater has a remote which is also the thermostat, reading the actual temperature and allowing the holder to set the target temperature. It works very well, perhaps optimizing the heating for the location of the remote rather than a spot on the wall.

That’s a good idea. I don’t stand in the hallway.

So then it is possible Global/Frigidaire are telling the truth in the ad? It is especially nice if a through-the-wall A/C could have its thermostat in the remote instead of in the unit which has a frigidly cold side and a very warm side. A unit mounted thermostat is very likely measuring the temperature inside of the unit instead of next to the recliner I am sitting in.
I would guess an infrared thermostatic remote (most common remote type) would need to be kept pointing at the heating/cooling unit but a radio controlled unit could be anywhere in the dwelling.

Thank you, Delphi.

<I suppose I could call Global or Frigidaire and ask about the linked A/C but from past experience, I would expect to speak with a dunderhead who could not understand what I am asking.>

My new thermostat is firmely mounted on the wall. Im always losing my remote control and would have a problem if it were mounted on my remote.
I have an APP on my phone tha allows me to control the temperature from over the internet. When I carry my phone one kilometer from my home, it can lower the heat in the house until I come home. It can also turn the A/C up and down as well.
My thermostat connects to the internet via WIFI and is capable of transmitting the temperature of the room and can receive setting changes.

But wildie, your thermostat is STILL on the wall no matter how you make it dance from far away.

I think my a/c remote is DA BOMB and I keep it in only two places so it is never lost. My AC unit is down at floor level, under a window and under a small table holding a large speaker and orchids. If I had to reach down and under all this to push buttons... with my back I would be lost.

But the idea of a truly remote and mobile thermostat-remote control in one hand held unit makes me lust with desire.

Must you keep that remote pointed at your heater?
