We are currently using Fresh Step for the kittens litter box. It is so fine that when they leave the litter box they have the granulars in their paws and it gets on the floor. Can anyone recommend a better litter to use. :herekitty: I was thinking my granddaughter had the clumping kind once and it wasn't too good either. We are doing fine with our 'kitten' food that was recommended by some of you and thanks for that. :kitti: I will have more pictures soon and they sure are growing. Looks like we have two males. Still need to get them fixed, etc. real soon too. Any recommendations are welcome concerning anything. First time we have had kittens in years. :bob: Thanks, |

Hi Mary, I don't like that fine litter either. Have a look here http://www.thecatsite.com/Care/29/Litter-B...ntenance/2.html The Cat Site is a fabulous forum with many experienced in cat care, and even a vet visits there too. I can't help you too much as I don't know which brands are in the US, but I prefer the clumping litter. If the litter is scented it can give the kitties cystitus. Ann |

Mary I prefer the clumping litter. I'm not sure there is anything that can really be done to totally eliminate the scattering. I had a little ramp that was covered in thin carpet. I put this on the end of the littler box and it seems to help a little. I've found that the best thing is my little "Shark" vacuum. I run it around the litter box daily. Much easier than dragging out the big vacuum. I raised Kenobi on Purina Kitten Chow. My vet said I should keep him on it for one year, which I did. My vet also would not neuter Kenobi until he was 8 months old. I thought this seemed a bit old, but he said it was best for cat. Kenobi does have a green sofa pillow that he is very fond of. I don't know if that has anything to do with his age at neutering or not. :) Anxious to see new pics of your little babies. Don't you just love them??? |

Thanks for the information. I can use it all. We will be trying the clumping kind. They are a lot of fun. They do seem to be a lil stubborn in the 'No' area but I will win out. They keep testing. I will have pictures soon. :herekitty: |

Mary nice to hear you and the kittens are doing great. I use the clumping kind of litter also. And I think the scattering of the litter is something that we just have to learn to live with :) Looking forward to your pictures. |
