Whenever the crows caw, we know there's a danger nearby, usually a raccoon.

Today, the crows were on the telephone wires behind the house cawing and at the same time, there was a crash in the kitchen. What a surprise - a raccoon was trying to pry open the dog's can of food. He scuttled out the kitchen to the back of the yard. Caught him/her ifeasting n the compost pile.

This year the city went on automated garbage collection - special containers, only driver and truck required. The new containers are heavy, are not easily tipped and hard for wild animals (raccoon and coyotes) to get into. The wild animals are very hungry and very brave in their hunt for food - lots of warnings about keeping pets in doors.

The naughty little rascal. Aren't they lovely though, I would love to see one in real life. Bit dangerous though, I believe they will attack if frightened.
