How many of you are getting sick of seeing:

Internet Exporer has caused an error and must close.
Do you wish to report the problem to Microsoft?
YES NO

:soapbox: :panic :grr :thermometer2.gif:

I am beginning to see beauty in the word FIREFOX.

I use Firefox mostly because I don't like the Microsoft near monopoly.
But I have never had a bit of trouble with it. When I first got it, I found the tabs feature (multiple sites instantly accessible by clicking tabs) and ad blocking a wonderful improvement over Explorer. I think Explorer has copied those features now but I'm a loyal Firefox user. I think it now has a 17% market share.

I would uninstall Explorer from my computer if it was possible.

I tried Mozilla Firefox for a bit, but then went back to using IE, because when I went to post on this forum I found the HTML tags didn't work. For example if I wanted to quote in IE I highlight and click on QUOTE, or if I want bold I highlight and click B. If I tried the same thing using Firefox I got a B or a QUOTE at the end of the text passage!! ........... :panic

I'd noticed that, Kahu, but didn't know why. Thanks for telling us. I think I'll email Invision, and ask if they can correct it. I love Firefox, and wouldn't think of switching back.

So, there I am, on the computer and I get:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience...''

First thing I want to know is....What problem? Well, ya can click a box that shows the error but it might as well be in Latin.....and....who is the "WE" who are(is) sorry for the inconvenience. I'd like to get hold of "we"..I'd make "we" use Netscape!

As a matter of fact, think I'll switch to Netscape....Yea, that's it....Netscape....Yea...

Chayisun, are you related to me? You remind me so much of my brother, he always gets everyone laughing. Thanks for brightening up the forum, keep it up....I needed that.

By the way....Netscape sucks IMO.

Well, I just removed Netscape from my computer. See, it was having arguments with Explorer and I couldn't take it any more.

As for Explorer..well it did it again...it was sorry for the inconvenience...I said thank you and restarted my computer.

I am planning on visiting Bill Gates soon and will let ya know what he says. Of course, first I gotta get past security....Which shouldn't be too hard as all I'll have to do is explain to them that I'm there to ask Billy...That's what I call him..Billy....If he is really sorry for the inconvenience when Explorer closes down.

I fully expect Billy will give me a brand new version of Explorer for me to play with.... Along with an apology for the inconvenience I have suffered through.

By the way, mamamia, if you are rich..Yes, indeedy, I am your long lost cousin from Tallahassee.....

chavisum,
If you want to get straight through to Billy just tell him that "It's WARREN CALLING!" <Billionaires ALWAYS take calls from other BILLIONAIRES.>

Campy,
I'm running IE 7.0 on a Win XP SP-2 platform.
This messy message never occurred with IE 6.0 run on WIN Me.

Campy, what is that repair function. Lately, I've gotten that message a few times, too. I have IE.

This is only for Windows 98. That's why I asked for the operating System.

Start Settings Control Panel Add Remove Programs.

If you look at Internet Explorer and click on it you get Add/Remove/Repair.

Click on Repair.

That same function doesn't seem to be available with XP.

To fix this go to the website for XP.

Thank you campy.

I'll try to work my way through those recommended fixes although the words "script debugging" strike true terror into my heart.
