Dog's Breath Biscuits 1/2 c whole wheat flour 1/2 c all purpose flour 1 c large flake rolled oats 3/4 c cornmeal 1/4 c packed brown sugar 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 c butter softened 1/3 cup peanut butter 2 eggs 1/4 c minced fresh mint 1/4 c minced fresh parsley In bowl whisk together whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, cornmeal, rolled oats, sugar, baking powder, salt. In separate bowl beat butter with peanut butter, beat in eggs 1 at a time.Stir in flour mixture, mint & parsley to make a soft dough.Divide in half & wrap & out in frig for 1 hour up to 2 days On lightly flour surface roll out dough to 1/2 " thickness.using 4" bone shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes. Line rimless baking sheet with parchment paper or grease. Arrange on prepared pan.Bake in centre of oven @ 325 for 35-40 till golden & firm.cool store in air tight container for up to 2 weeks.makes 12 biscuits. you can save time by creaming the butter, peanut butter in the food processor.adding eggs next then the herbs & then the premixed dry ingredients.Divide the dough into 3 sandwich zipper type bags then flatten them before putting in frig.to make roll out easier. I have a small dog so I bought a small bone cutter..found it easier to cut into squares...Have made twice.. Using the sandwich bags.Have given away to other dogs...they like them :dog: |
