The extreme right is mounting a vicious campaign against all who are concerned about climate change. The shrill accusations of socialist intrigues is almost laughable. Right wingers like Harper do not want to fight global warming; they are encouraged by this drivel. |

This global warming is a very serious issue. We appear to be right at the point where further increases in temperature will cause runaway warming, mostly due to CO2 stored in permafrost and ocean floors being released. And it seems very likely that we will do nothing about it but talk. It could be worse than a few billion casualties: our species could become extinct. |

Gwynne Dyer writes in "Climate Wars" that several billion humans will die when the heat dries the southern half of our planet. |

Gee, someone called LORD MONCKTON, 3rd VICOUNT of Monckton issues his revuulvion against any changes in the way we are heating the planet. The man isn't even a comptetent LORD...and I think all that requires is a father with a title, a heartbeat and the family's lack of recent charges of trying to kill the reighning monarch.
His opinions are pure and utter hogwash. We MAY well get a world government, aka known as daddy Bush's "New WOrld Order," but it won't be from an environmental treaty but rather from the business end of a United States nuclear cruise missile. The right-wing ALWAYS uses the same terrible argument to beat down any decent ideas that affect the status quo: "If we do THAT the world. as we know it, will come to an end." If that END means the end of everyone called LORD, then count me in. |
