I am so glad that I noticed before dishing out the meds. I guess we get into a habit with our own meds but I wonder how many check their pet's scrips out too. Picked up a refill yesterday, both pills were the same size, same white colour but when I went to split one in half I noticed lettering on the one side. Sure enough upon checking they were a different medication. I hate to think what would have happened had I not had to split the pill. Likely I would not have noticed it was the wrong med. I called the office immediately and will be picking up a replacement this morning. Have not decided yet whether to raise Hell or just chalk it up to an honest mistake......lee |

In my book it is not the type of event that one lets disappear into the sunset. The possible problems may not have been severe in this case, but you will never know. I would call them on it simply because it could mean a pets life. I would think that this type of honest mistake could be catastrophic and should not be tolerated. |

IMO, the potential danger in dispensing the wrong medication demands that the vet and the clinic owner, if they are not the same, as well as all office staff be made aware of this error. |

I agree with what has already been said Lee. Who knows what this wrong medication could have done to your cat. Hopefully they will be more careful in the future. Take care, Pat |

Absolutely let them know a mistake has been made. I would not only tell them about it, I would write a letter to whoever owns the clinic, and send it registered mail - or whatever the Candandian equivalent is for mail for which you receive a delvery acknowledgement. Then if it happens again, to your pet or another, the incident will be documented. |
