Toronto Star Picture Editor Wanda Goodwin shares these delightful images of Kevin Richardson a.k.a "The Lion Whisperer." A new film opening soon in The United States about a rare white lion who escapes becoming a trophy on a wall, is a rare happy ending in a country where more than 1,000 lions are killed legally each year. Kevin Richardson, the man behind the movie, calls himself an "ambassador of lions" and hopes the film will act as one too at a time when foreign tourists are willing to pay up to $40,000 to shoot a big cat.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I did.

Take care,
Pat

The pictures were amazing. However, I hope that this does not encourage others to try the same!! They are still wild animals and he is taking his life in his hands. Even if he is their friend, they could easily turn on him, one day.

Oh I know Imjene. I was fortunate enough to see Siegried & Roy's show twice At the Mirage in Vegas. I recall the first time I said to my daughter, "I don't want to see them. I am not into magicians." Did I ever eat my words. I have been to many live shows, concerts, etc., but this is the one show that is top of the list for me. It was wonderful, and they were such great illusionists working with their white lions and tigers. It is only now when I went to Wikipedia that I saw a reason for the incident involving Montecore (white tiger) that ended the show and almost ended Roy Horn's life that I have seen the cause of what many saw as an attack on Roy.

Take care,
Pat

They are awesome and I did enjoy them. Kind of scary though...remember that guy who lived with grizzlies and thought he was one? Ended up with he
and the girl friend getting eaten by the grizzly.
