Zine El Abidine Ben Ali (Arabic: Zayn al-‘Ābidīn bin ‘Alī), (born 3 September 1936) is president of the Republic of Tunisia. He has held this office since 7 November 1987. He was appointed Prime Minister in October 1987, and assumed the Presidency in November 1987, succeeding President Habib Bourguiba. Prior to elective office, Ben Ali served as prime minister, member of government, senior army officer and diplomat.

There's a certain irony here in that this President whenever he is nearing the end of his term of Office he engineers an extension ...... !

Although he didn't shout it from the rooftop, the guide told us that he was almost regarded as being a figure of fun as he is always depicted heavily airbrushed on the all the public billboards ........ just who is this handsome guy?
