Google is today warning many Windows computers are infected with something that redirects web addresses through sites through pay per click websites, which then pass you on to the site you requested. If that site is Google, you now get a big yellow dialog informing you of the problem on your computer.

At first I thought this was to do with Google Chrome the browser. However, I now realize its to do with the Google search engine. oooh 02

It seems that malware authors are depending more and more on tricking us into accepting malware, rather than trying to sneak it aboard, hidden in photos and emails etc.

It isn't clear to me what it actually does. Maybe it modifies the search string to direct you to sites that produce revenue for the bad guys. Some say you have to do a google search before it can detect the malware.

Yes, too many people wasting their talent trying to steal our money.
