Since it has a dual core processor, I assume it must have at least a rudimentary OS in order to supervise the active processes.
Your term rudimentary operating system puzzles me somewhat. The only detailed example I could find of a thin client architecture indicates it has no operating system unless you would describe the shell as a rudimentary operating system?

I didn't say it IS a thin client. It is what it is. It is not some modern variation on an ancient concept like thin client or dumb terminal. It doesn't really matter what the precise definition of a thin client or an OS is. I am certainly not going to try to demonstrate that this device is a thin client since I used that comparison only to illustrate a device similar in functionality and purpose.
