I have FIREFOX instead of IE. For the past while when I click on a link instead of going directly to the link it takes me to a Yahoo Search Page, it can be a link to this web site or any it takes me to the YAHOO web site.
How do i get out of it ?

Anyone else have the same issue?

I'm a FF user also! I'm most comfortable with it! Although the newer Chrome is pretty good also!

Usually what happens when your browser is redirected, its caused by the installation of new software. This can include updates!

You can set your browser to open with a blank page or any other site that you fancy!

This is done by clicking 'Tools' on the upper tool bar. then, click 'Options' and when the Window opens, click the 'General' tab.

Whatever is the present choice will be shown in the Home Page field. If you wish to change this, go back to your browser and connect to the site that you wish to be your home page. Then follow the above procedure and then click the 'Use Current page' button.
Thats it and when you open FF again, you will go to your new selection.

I think Firefox installs Yahoo on your toolbar when you upgrade to the new version.

That may be why?

I don't know how to fix your problem except maybe to take Yahoo off your toolbar.

I think that you may have the answer! Authors of freeware, such as Firefox support themselves with revenue from the likes of Yahoo, by including toolbars etc. that favour such organisations.
Usually, sometimes during the install (of new software) you are given the option of not accepting these, by un-checking a box.
If you are not careful about reading what is being offered, its possible to have your homepage altered, and new toolbars added!

The YAHOO Toolbar seemed to be the culprit. Somehow I must have missed the notification while upgrading Firefox.
It was become ever frustrating being diverted to YAHOO each time you clicked on a url.

Thank you for the timely advise...... 4_1_112

I have the Yahoo toolbar as well along with a calculator Notepad Windows Explorer and Weather and Facebook which got downloaded last time I upgraded Firefox.

But I like those items I didn't have readily accessible now.

If I want to copy over a URL or compose a message the Notepad is right there and I don't have to go back to the shortcut on the Desktop.

I don't know how I do this.

I can copy other peoples posts right into my reply.

Like the one I just replied to.

My reply is imbedded in Alli's post. Those are not her words.

In the full reply screen, there is a quote button. When you click it, you get begin quote and end quote symbols in the message. Anything you paste or type between them shows up as a quote. You can also type those symbols with the square brackets.

So what you are telling me is that I can edit someone else's post and make it look like they said something that they didn't?

That's my point.

Thats correct! Basically, I do this all the time. If I want to respond to a particular point or statement, I delete all the rest that isn't pertinent!

Quoting limited to 2 levels deep

I don't think you are getting my point.

I can insert my own words into someone else's post and it would look like they said those words.

I know what you are talking about with the quote. I do that all the time myself.

This is something completely different. Somehow I get my own words to show up in the blue quote of someone else's post. I have done this twice already but i don't know how i did it.

Its because you are typing inside the quote! You have to make sure to type after the quote!

The point is I shouldn't be able to "type within the quote".

The software should not permit it, otherwise I could edit someone else's post.
