Those ads for ipads, etc. at very low prices are also a nasty scam. You have to sign in with a credit card number on the opening page and then they start charging you for various things. It is a auction based sale and you pay for every bid. If you get an ad for it on your cell phone, don't use the text option to "stop annoying me with your advertising" - they charge your phone $5 for that. |

The irony of this situation is that the iPad itself as a device is virtually impregnable to the current crop of malware crap out there. Given the tight control Apple exercises over the programs (apps) that may be loaded on an iPad and the "sandboxing" of running apps that insulates the device's OS from potentially dangerous actions, surfing with an iPad is like driving through a crime ridden neighborhood in an armoured car. This is not true for all tablets, you may notice in the first article in the link provided above, Android devices are being attacked. |
