Google has unveiled futuristic prototype eyeglasses that offer a heads-up display with a connection to the internet.

Dubbed "Project Glass," the fashionable and discreetly designed specs project icons and images within the wearer's field of vision and allow voice-activated control and communication.

In a video demonstration, a wearer is shown in a daily routine while checking the weather, reading and sending messages, taking and sending photographs and participating in a video chat

Another way to distract people from actually experiencing their surroundings and the real life around them.

Google goggles will replace smartphones
Project Glass is underway at Google X
By Chris Martin | PC Advisor | 05 April 12

Google has released a future looking video of Project Glass, a pair of smart glasses dubbed 'Google goggles'. Project Glass is all about bringing smartphone and tablet type technology to a pair of glasses which are sight and voice controlled. The team at Google X has started the project to bring the sci-fi style technology to life.

The Google X team said: "We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t." "We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do." it added.
