What is the matter with this forum?

Barry.

It's a well known fact that this site is monitored by google and other websites that track information.

And that's what slows it down at times.

You may want to pooh pooh it and pretend it isn't happening but you don't know the first thing about it do you?

I think the way it works is that Zetaboards sells advertising on this forum in order to pay for its operation. Zeta doesn't deal with individual ads; they are paid for the space by an advertising company. The company computer probably tracks what text appears on each page and chooses ads "on the fly" to fit in with what we write. If that process is slow it could account for the delay we see sometimes. As Campy says, during a delay some browsers display "waiting for ..." at the bottom of the browser window. It would be most interesting to hear what is being waited for. I don't see it on my Mac using Safari.

Different "waiting for" applications appear.

Waiting for "googlesyndication.com" is one of them.

And then the advertising appears according to the discussion.

Right now the site is lightning fast.

And then I have read page Ad2.googlesyndication.com and I could not post until the application stopped.

Another one I got is resources.eyereturn.com

Barry:

Add something to the conversation once in a while instead of concentrating on me.

The members have been complaining about how slow the forum has been and I have been trying to find a solution.

So what do you do? You jump in and berate the guy who is trying to help.

You don't like my posts? Scroll on by and show us that you have a life to live away from the computer.

And you still owe my an apology for erroneously stating that I sent a nasty post to your female friends.

But you won't address that one. You will pretend it didn't happen.

You were wrong then and you are wrong now.
