Oven barbequed ribs

Made this dish for dinner this evening. It is an old standby good enough to serve to guests.

BBQ Ribs

2 - 3 lbs. pork spareribs - cut into serving size portions.
1/2 cup onion or half an onion - sliced
2 or 3 cloves of garlic chopped
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon HP or Worcheshire Sauce
1/7 tsp. Tabasco
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 475 degrees - cut meet - arrange in roasting pan [one with a lid] and place uncovered in the hot oven for 15 minutes or until the ribs are browned.
* Add onions & garlic.
* Combine all remaining ingredients and pour over ribs & onions
* Reduce heat to 300 degrees.
* Cover pan with lid and continue baking for 1 - 1/2 hrs. longer.

To Serve:
* drizzle sauce from ribs over cooked basmati rice.
* Add ribs.
* Optional: ADD a Side Salad or another vegetable.

tips: Recipe may be doubled.
* May be made a day in advance.
* Is nice done in a slow cooker.
