A Calgary woman who returned a purse containing $10,000 is getting plenty of attention today. The woman — who is not being named because she lives in a downtown shelter —found the purse leaning against a car that later drove off. Inside was a stack of $100 bills. The woman took the purse to her case worker, who called the police The story has touched a number of people, including Beverly Geier who wants to give the woman $100. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/10/12/calgary-samaritans-purse-reaction.html A homeless woman found $10,000 and returned it to the owner? What exactly is wrong with our society when we allow people with hearts as good as this woman's to be homeless? Oh that's right, our society rewards opportunist predators who are willing to cut others down and take advantage of them to make a buck. That's how you get rich, and society looks up to these predators and down on kind-hearted homeless people like this lady. This is a comment from the article that says it like I think. |
