I often see people sign up for membership on the forum and never post anything. If they can read all why on earth do they want to sign up? I am always skeptical about the intentions of all these new personalities, I often think they are one person who wants to be ready to create havoc whenever they want. Is there a reason why we keep these 'personalities' when they never post? |

Periodically Kahu does do a clearout. I too wonder why people bother to join and then do not take part, on the other hand when I joined 50plus it was months before I cautiously waded in, so perhaps some people are just shy. |

I grant you that, but here you can read and not post so what is the advantage of membership under those circumstances? That is my question. |

Actually you can't read everything on the forum if you are not a member. Only some of the areas can be read by non-members. |

Most areas can be seen if not a member. Log out and one can see that. I read for a long while before I signed up, too. No need to sign up if not going to post. It's true that those who would disturb do have several aliasses on the go at once. |

Is it true, on the same forum or different forums. I do use different names on different forums, it helps if you have a stalker (well sometimes) and for security reasons. |

That sounds a bit ridiculous or sick to me, to have many personalities at one place. And looks like trollism.

Not at any one place, in different places. What is sick is some of the accusations resulting in a subsequent apology from elsewhere which I kept. Considering how much is on the internet and who can be found, and of course the problem of stalkers, it's a good idea to use different names on different sites. It's all part of personal safety and being safe online. Edited by friendshipgal, Oct 14 2012, 04:34 AM.

You have on several occasions here suggested that you have a stalker. You named me as your stalker on another forum where we both are members so I wonder why you don’t just do the same here rather that making unfounded insinuations. No guts? I think it is time for me to address your insinuations. It is beyond me why you attach so much importance, value , influence or whatever to yourself to think that someone would stalk you. If you in fact have a stalker, I assure you it is not me, I have no reason to care what or where you post. I read enough of your opinions here on WWS; I certainly don’t need a repeat of them on other forums. What is even more ludicrous about your accusations that I am stalking you, why would I be such a fool and use the name you know me by? You are flattering yourself, FSG, I am not stalking you. |

I see people on line reading but who have never posted ever, maybe they just get a kick out of lurking. |

Sounds like paranoia to me Bitsy. It is not only that they do not post, but they do not come back to the site loged in. This is very puzzling. If you have another personality so you can log in and read then it would show up that you have done so. These personalities are just there registered and never used, even to come and read. These are the membership names I am talking about. biboopsie dguffleman gareau Gr8gramie guscan happyscad JennyCraig Lisa Avery magbri marierodrigues ramonfernandez shineke smachiskinic smile128 Register and never come back. Why are they still there? had forgotten biboopsie Edited by Darcie, Oct 14 2012, 07:51 AM.

Happyscad is a personal friend of mine and has been for something like 13 years. We met at WidowNet shortly after we, and a number of others here, lost our husbands. Would you like me to ask her Darcie why she has not posted since she joined last month? The impression I get from this thread is that some have too much time on their hands, but that's JMHO. ohmy 03 Take care, Pat |

The impression I get is that some are not aware that there are people who sign up with multiple personalities and can wreck havoc with this and other sites. Did you not notice previously? Tootles and other admin have had to work hard to undo the damage. These people are called Trolls and they are alive and well. That is the reason for my question. You could have asked why Pat. I never said that the names were malicious, just that I wondered why people would do this. Would be interesting to know why your friend did this, but certainly not imperative. Do you know any of the other names? One down and 12 to go..... Edited by Darcie, Oct 14 2012, 05:33 AM.

It is not necessary for you to explain what a Troll is. We are all too familiar with the havoc that has been caused on discussion boards by them over many years. Take care, Pat |
