It bothered me that a member thinks it is only the same old gang who posts all the time. Perhaps that individual has not added up the percentage of posts that come from the top ten posters of the day .... but it does not add up to 100% so yes, there are some of us who post here as well. Unfortunately, the thread was closed before I could speak. Any new member reading that thread would get the impression it is an 'in group' here so why bother trying to break through? Not all of us spend as much time on the computer, and so often life gets in the way, and there are more important issues to address. Also, there are days/periods when I read and have nothing to add to a subject., and likely it is much the same for other members. So often we learn just by reading. Take care, Pat |

Yes i agree golden girl, I very often just read or am away. I think this is a great site because it is worldwide and although Canadians for some reason seem to dominate it there is information coming from other countries. It would interest me to hear opinions from other counties as well. |

It is the same old gang who post most of the time, I also said Pat, that there are others do post, please reread it. I also remember delphi telling us that one of the reasons it doesn't add up is because admins/mods post in the admin forum but we don't see their posts. The comment was not made to insinuate anything, it was just a statement about what happens here and in most forums. cheers |

I'm not that interested in arguing right/left politics. People are set in their beliefs and nothing will change their minds anyway, so what's the point? If I have a question or something to add, I post but often I have nothing much to add so I just browse. |

I do come on each day to read and from time to time will post when I feel comfortable and time is not in the way, I often feel that my posts do not measure up to others so hesitate to post, maybe I should not feel this way but I find that there are those that post so often that I feel inadequate to add anything and often fear offending or causing trouble. I think WWS is a wonderful forum but if some wish to just read and post once in awhile why is that such a disputable thing, we are not all leaders in this world and I am content to add a little here and there and do a lot of reading. I disagree that anyone should have there name removed because they do not post, it takes all kinds to make the world go around and this is one of the things that make this forum so good. I think on any forum one will find the same people posting but that does not mean everyone has to post everyday and those that don't are content with that regardless of some feeling we should post often |

Wow, what a nice quiet discussion going on here! I was reluctant to post in a couple of the hot weekend threads myself. The intolerance shown seemed very un-WWS like. Since this is the rant forum, I'm going to write what appeared in my mind in the middle of the night on the matter. When I was 4 or 5 years old in the early 1950s my parents moved back to their old place at the end of a long muddy road. It was three miles for my mother to walk to visit the nearest woman. My dad was away working a lot and of course he took the only vehicle. I remember walking quite often with my mother to visit the nearest neighbour, Old Eric. Old Eric believed very firmly that the Earth was flat. Often when he walked to town for groceries and tobacco, he would get into an argument with other men over the matter. No doubt there were quotes from various places about ships and planes going around the world. Poor Old Eric would be upset when he got home. My mother told me that the world really was a big ball but we wouldn't argue with Old Eric about it because it made him feel bad. It was okay if he thought it was flat. I never realized what an important idea my mother gave me then until today. |

Often it is not the ideas that get people riled up, but the way they are expressed. |

Heatseekeer I think that is a really important point. Maybe if we all took a little more care it would make a difference. |

I agree fully that members who just come and read should never be deleted. I don't know how you have the idea that they should be. I have never said that myself and have never seen a post suggesting that. It is the members who register as members and never come back, not even to read. |

Darcie nothing in my post was directed toward you in anyway. I can see your point if someone joins and does nothing for years, not even read but then again it is a personal choice. I guess I just do not see the importance of this matter and do not want to get into a discussion about it, I am sorry if I misinterperted your post or anyone's for that matter, it is just the way I took it and how I feel about the subject. Each and every one of us has a different point of view of different matters and we each have to respect that opinion. |

OK, just wondered why you were against this as I had never seen it mentioned before that anyone here was for it. Guess I misread your post and what you meant. Sorry abou that. |

No problem Darcie, this is probably one of the reasons I post little but I have had three posts in a row so that is a different step for me. Delphi we sure can learn a lot about what your Mother taught you, my thoughts excactly but you versed it so well |
