Our daughter set up a group rate with Signature Vacations in April for 10 of us to go to Mexico for her wedding in January 2013. All deposits were paid on time but unfortunately there were some uncontrollable cancellations. While they agreed to allow a smaller group suddenly the price became higher than the advertised price on line, with no acceptable explanation. To get out of the group rate and book at the advertised rate we would forfeit the deposit - again with no reasonable explanation. If they had allowed us to transfer to the regular booking without penalty or had allowed the regular price within the reduced group I would have had no problem, but their way is nothing more than a way to collect more from the traveler. While a cheaper group rate may be good if there are no hitches or unexpected cancellation, be careful, because if there are they will find many ways to stick it to you. |
