Why can't I copy and paste with my iPad?

Please take a look at my posts in http://s7.zetaboards.com/Worldwide_Seniors/topic/8766365/1/?x=0

I am easily able to copy the properties of an image from Facebook, and then post it in the image button here on WWS.

However, when I try to copy something from Facebook with my iPad, I do not get anything that looks like the "properties" I get with my WIN computer.

Any Idea on how to fix this?

Does the Image button here work on your iPad? It doesn't on my older one. None of the buttons in the full reply screen, including the emoticons, does anything at all from my iPad or my Mac running Safari. I am told this is because the board software uses non -standard JavaScript encoding that isn't supported by Safari.

I don't use Facebook, but have a problem something like that. When copying the address of a picture to post, on any computer I can right click and choose to "copy image address". That choice is not available in Safari on iPad.

Thanx Delphi. Depends on what you mean by "works."

Yes. I can open the image Http/ thing on my iPad and put in what I get when I "copy" a photo from Facebook, but what I "copy" on Facebook isn't the same letters, symbols, etc. as one gets when one clicks on a photo using my desktop with WIN XP, and copying the URL in "Properties". I don't know how to find "Properties" with my iPad.

How do you find properties on Facebook with a computer?

Thanx to Fuzzy, you click on a photo displayed on Facebook, and a box opens up, you select properties and then another box opens up and you copy the URL displayed there.

But with my iPad, I can't find Properties. Anywhere...not just Facebook. Could properties be something that only exists in Microsoft?

I'm unfamiliar with the IPAD, but Apple has gone to great lengths to design their system differently than does Microsoft. I think that its reasonable to assume that certain apps would have properties as they do in Windows but its likely that they called something else and access may well be carried out differently!

For this reason, I have been holding back, waiting to see how the MS 'Surface' tablet turns out. The 'Surface' comes with Win8 and I have been using Win8 on my laptop for about a month now!
I have found Win8 to be acceptable, but not something that is an absolute necessity.

On this page, read the three posts beginning June 7
http://www.makeuseof.com/answers/copy-paste-facebook-iphone-ipad/

They say the problem is that the mobile version of Facebook doesn't support copying a picture's address. But they describe a way to switch to the regular Facebook website with iPad - just click on "desktop" somewhere.
