The other day I received a beautiful "Lap Quilt" sent to me from Victoria's Quilts in Ottawa. These quilts are made by some wonderful, generous people who make them for Cancer Patients. It came with a lovely silk carrying bag. What a great surprise. I don't know who sent it, it was anonymous It's almost too pretty to use. I found their web site on line If you know someone who has cancer these are just wonderful to receive free of charge.. I was so nicely surprised I have it sitting in the bag. Too nice to use just yet. biggrin 04 Victoria's Quilt Canada Look Here Posted Image The one sent to me is similar.. Edited by Alli, Mar 15 2013, 11:28 AM.

Our quilting group supports local charities and our Hospital and Hospice by donating our quilts for them to sell off. It is a great way to support the community and have a day out with your friends. It is wonderful for a person facing life threatening illness to get one of these quilts from Victoria. |

Thanks for this. I hate to give out my friend's phone number though. But, it all looks so wonderful. I know she'd be pleased to receive an unexpected, beautiful gift. |

I don't think she (or who ever did this) gave my number because I moved and am not using my own number currently. I just loved this it was such a lovely gift to receive all the work that was involved. :clapping: |

Thank you for the link Alli. I've passed it on to my niece as the 5 year-old son of her best friend has been fighting cancer since he was 16 months old. I have met her friend but my niece will know better if this is something she wants done. |
