I like Stan and Ollie too. But there's PING and PONG. And LENIN and TROTSKY...ooh, I like that. CAIN and ABEL. TOM and JERRY BATMAN and ROBIN ESAU and JACOB BUSH and CHENEY, scary, eh. BEN and JERRY DAVID and JONATHAN SCHROEDINGER and COPERNICUS SIEGFRIED and ROY FASOULT and FAFNIR TYRION and JAMIE (Sometimes their personalities suggest the names.) Romulus and Remus is good but perhpas sound a little too much alike...like Ping and Pong. Edited by Trotsky, Mar 31 2013, 12:39 AM.

I remember reading an article about how easy it is for cats to distinguish certain sounds. Names with a T are good, also names with a sh or ch, and names that end with an ee sound. So Stan and Ollie are good from that perspective, though you could enhance it by calling Stan Shtan!. Goatee and 'Stache? |

Gorgeous looking kitties BJ. I likely would have called them Ginger and Snap. I do not think it matters any more if a name is more suited to one sex than another. Montana would likely be more suited to a male, and the groomer where I used to take her called her "Monty" for short which really sounded male to me whereas I call her "Tanny." Take care, Pat |

Oh BJ we get so involved in out pets. My two original ones who lived for 18 years were Mick and Mouse. I hope they live long for you, lately we have had a lot of trouble with cats getting sick and I think it is the feed. |

I like Snap but not Ginger. How about Snap and Snarl. I think you need to spend time with a cat before naming him. His personality often points to his name. Whatever you name them they are lovely. In a very short time i'm sure they will rule the rooster...that was a slip of the fingers but, maybe it means they should be Rooster and ...???? Congratulations BJ and John. |

Begette: Congrats on the new kittens. I am always partial to orange cats. Lots of great names here - it will be hard to choose. |

Orange cats are the most affectionate for some reason. |

Strawberry and Rhubarb are GREAT names. I'd use them if I had two orange cats. Does anybody here know the song, "Orange Cats Make the Very Best Friends". It is by a Canadian independant singer who has a great sense of humour. I think the CD is called Orange Cats and is by Norm hacking and Kirk Elliot. I always play it for my orange cat, Buttercup, and for John and me, of course. :) |
