Great idea....thanx Alli!! I see they have kitty litter all over our laundry room and there isn't even a litter box in there. It must stick to their little paws...

My cats love the bathtub for drinking and playing with dribbles of water. I sometimes find pieces of litter in there. Not good for the plumbing. AH, life with cats. :)

Many people put the litterbox IN the bathtub. That had no appeal for me.

Our friend, Dawn, who is a major cat advocate/expert, tells me some kitties will not use the covered litter boxes.

Right now our boys are excountering so much that is new, she advised waiting to try one. A friend on another web site suggested as names "McCreamy and McPeachy" which, so far, seem to best suit their personalities.

I think I mentioned we are currently referring to them as Green and Blue, based on collar colors, and Blue - the fat one, seems to already be responding to that name.

Yesterday was NOT a good day. They both seemed terrified all day and we do not know why. This morning, Blue, at least, came right up to me and sat on my lap as soon as I sat down on the floor this morning. But they hid from DH who was down before I awoke and cleaned up what he described as the bathroom having been turned into a sandbox with litter everywhere.

I am worried that Blue might not be allowing Green Green's share of the food.

My daughter has a cat named Blue. My 2 adult cats know which dish belongs to whom, and they do not transgress, so over time they can be trained.

Right now Ruckus is still in feral mode as regards food. He thinks he must eat everything in sight in case there is no more. Consequently, he pushes Buttercup away from her bowl and gobbles down her food. She's not a fighter and is well fed so she allows it. For now, we are seperating them at food time until he gets an idea of manners.

Sorry, I dont care for the 'macs'. Would you call them Cream and Peach on a daily basis? I'd probably end up calling them Peachy and Keen. lol

John doesn't like any of today's suggested names. I think they are going to remain "Blue" and "Red" as soon as we can replace Green's collar with a red one.

But EXCITING NEWS!!!!

Today, I was sitting on the floor petting Blue in my lap and he eventualy moved away to play with a toy and guess who walked over and climbed into my lap??? YES, Red!! He cuddled and purred for over 10 minutes til I had to move him off so John and I could go to the pet store to puchase a covered litter box.

They are both viewing the covered box with great suspicion. I mixed litter from the uncocvered box with the new litter in the covered box, and though they are peeking in, neither has gotten in.

and also.....I thought I would see if they would eat some wet food, since those in the know seem to believe wet is better for cats, though I bought this horrificly expensive dry whole organic food made in Canada to replace the horrible Iams that they were eating in the shelter, and when I got downstairs, Blue was on the table in the bathroom and Red was under it, so I put a dish in each place. Blue ate most of his and then Red ate all of his and finished Blue's.

I swear, I don't know how young parents of twins manage. These two have me totally exhausted!

Please don't use a covered litter box. They are cruel and inhuman punishment for animals with the keenest sense of smell in the animal world.

Blue and Red are as good names as any. I will always think of Red as 'Green' though. :)
