My daughter helped me download this pic of my new cat Ruckus as my new avatar.
He's a holy terror but a cutie.

I wish it were a bigger picture! He wears a cravat? does he have a shirtfront too?

No, he has a bikini bottom though.

I'll try to post a bigger pic. It is a cute one of him yawning.

I took him out on a leash today for the first time and he had a whee of a time. :)

He doesn't mind being leashed? I wonder if I could try that with Bertie and Oscar. They would love to go out, but it is just too risky for them.

You and JB are making me want to get a cat. My husband and I had two cats, I wasn't enthralled at the idea, at the time. But when he died they were so loved by me that when they eventually died I was heartbroken and vowed I would never get another cat. Now I'm beginning to think about it.

helen t, Hi hope you are feeling good this lovely Easter weekend.

Maybe if you are not sure you are ready to commit to a cat you could foster. Rescue groups are always needing foster parents and the shelters need them too, especially at this time of year.

Happy Easter, my friend.

he is very good on the leash. You just have to be patient and have one of the long, long ones that retract. We start them in the house until they get over the indignity and then go out. I crawl under bushes and stuff but John doesnt. Ruckus is ok either way.

I shall give it a try, I still have Becky's retractable leash. There's nothing I like more than an armful of sun-warmed cat. Do you use a collar or a harness?

I used to have my cat Pierre on a leash He adapted quite well and had a patio and some extended room to walk.
Declawing I would never subject a cat to that torture. Lucy the cat I have now is, she came to me that way.

Angora so cute!! Happy to see so many new kitties have great homes...

A harness. I believe a collar is wrong for dog or cat. :MapleLeaf: ...or baby.

Trotsky....I would NEVER declaw a cat. It changes how they move and causes serious joint deterioration. and if they are ever in trouble, it leaves them defenseless.

Ruckus is adorable. Must see the bikini bottom.

My boys, still unnamed, are now out of the guest bathroom and exploring the lower level minus the guest room. They are so funny. I had forgotten how rambunctius young male cats were. How old is Ruckus?

My Siamese cat lived till she was 21 without any issues after declawing her front paws. They are only defenseless if their back claws are removed since they fight with their back claws.
