Red shared my iced tea.... Posted Image which gave him the energy for a rigorous game of push the ball around in an actual cat toy with Blue, which was followed by Red and Blue chasing each other around the entire lower level of the house so fast that I could only record a flash with the camera..... Posted Image after which Red collapsed into my lap in exhaustion, while Blue decided to watch the boxing matches with John. Posted Image Now I understand why Mother Nature gave us menopause. These guys are exhausting! |

They are so adorable! There's something about a cat's paw that makes me melt. |

What fun photos, and I love the one of Red in your lap. Do you think they will choose a favorite parent or does Blue just prefer boxing? |

If the truth be told, I am the cat person in the house. Pandora never sat in John's lap - not even once in all the years she was with us. Red is a bit nervous and high strung. He will only allow me to pick him up and will sit only in my lap. If John walks in suddenly, both will run and hide (as they will with any adult human standing up), but if John sits down, Blue will approach him, and climb into his lap. They were like that with me, too, but either they now recognize that I am the one who feeds them, or I am much shorter than John, or they have just gotten more used to me. Yesterday some friends visited briefly to see our new family members. Betty is a cat person and her husband is not (they have always had cats, too). They hid until the guests sat down, and almost immediatelt Blue jumped up on the sofa and allowed Betty to pet him. I think cats know instinctively which humans love cats. |
