Got this from my friend who is a Cairn rescuer. She says it’s not the breed or if is a shelter or a rescue pet but the relationship that forms. I will add it doesn't matter type of pet.

I really miss having a dog. It just isn't practical now as I have no one to care for a dog in my absence. Almost a year now and I still am about to start my morning routine with Becky and then I remember she is gone.
