I feel I must toss out Google as my Search engine of choice from the address bar. What is your opinion of the next best, or indeed BEST search engine? Might some be better than others for particular searches (like medicine, scientific, movies, theater, art) or are they all pretty nonspecific? (I have done nothing since I tried my first Google Search 15 years ago and stepped back and said WOW!) |

You might try a meta search, which calls up other search engines to get their best hits. Some are customizable so you could probably tell it to just collect from Google. Here is an interesting article on them. http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2065867/The-Best-and-Most-Popular-Meta-Search-Engines |

I'm amazed, Delphi, that those meta-engines still exist. (I've got to find one devoted to scientific and medical topics and research. In the fullness of time) Edited by Trotsky, Jun 3 2013, 06:24 AM.

I have Opera on my tablet. I like it and it's really fast. A plus.z It checks websites for malware and phishing. Edited by campy, Jun 3 2013, 02:09 PM.

Notice CHROME came out on top and at the bottom of the page is a paid ad for CHROME...funny that. Notice that for FEATURES, the bar is equally high for CHROME and FIREFOX but when delineated in the table, FIREFOX clearly has more features...all that CHROME offers and several more. The comparison clearly shows that GOOGLE can outspend its competitors when it comes to buying fake studies. :jig: I am planning on trying the newest browser called GIGGLEFART...they developed it on Wednesday and it is sweeping Peoria with already more than a dozen users. I like to user Firefox, since the days of Netscape, but Firefox gets frozen a lot with unresponsive script. That's when I turn to Chrome until I get an "awsnap" |
