So, I went back to CLASSIC setting for Windows 7, I.E.9 and my Google works just fine now.

BUT AMAZING COINCIDENCE, take heed all:
I have the Starter Version of Word and Excel...just fine for me. Well, guess what: the WORD programs spell check, without any prompting, is spell checking all my posts on all my fora, including this one. So any misspelled typo gets the squiggly red underline.
What a delightful and welcome surprise.

Try it.

Ah, Microsoft giveth and taketh away. I was surprised to see quite a few basic things are coming back to Windows 8 with version 8.1. Like having two windows for a program open at the same time.

Boy, ain't that the truth.
Every time I see something GOOD from them, I wonder when "the other shoe will drop."
