Red and Blue seem to be tending towards longhairs as they mature a bit. Is that an illusion? |

Trotsky, I think it is an illusion? Blue is quite chubby. Redi is in the basket and quite skinny. Bitsy, I got the bedspread and a spare at Bed Bath and Beyond which is a national chain. Was the only one we could find that sort of matched our carpet. Don't know brand by I will try to find the spare and look. |

Wonderful photos. I do love your cats. I'll have to try and load some photos of our/my dearly departed cats, they were so lovely. One was an Ocicat and the other a Burmese. |

I don't think Ive told you about a game that Ruckus loves. We call it submarine. We put a fairly deep bowl of water out for him and drop an Ice cube in it. He then dives in and bats it around until it splashes out onto his tray. Whereupon he chases it around there until it melts. Then we start over again. Red and Blue might enjoy it too. |

I think Red may be suicidal. We have quite a few pot lucks and dinner parties this coming week, so I needed to do some cooking. We have quite a problem with the Spawn, especially Red, jumping up on the kitchen counters. Given that this is not compatible with sanitary cooking, I frequently spray my counters (quartz) with bleach after seeing a cat on them. Yes, we do shoot the offending cat with a water pistol, and he will jump down, but the minute our backs are turned, they are back up. So yesterday after shooting Red with a water pistol, before beginning my cooking, I sprayed the counters with Clorox and just as I went to get a sponge, Red jumped up on the counter and laid down in a puddle of Clorox! I yelled for DH, he grabbed the cat and we hosed him down. You would think he learned his lesson? Not a chance. Within 10 minutes he was back on the counter. Any suggestions? |

Why don't you want them on the counter? They are your family. The people you are cooking for are not. At least that's the way I look at it now. When I was younger I was more uptight. ;) |

My suggestion was heartfelt. What do you want. Close the door to the kitchen. Put them in a locked room. You could figure that out for yourself. |

BJ: Cats don't like the smell of ammonia. Maybe a bottle of it on the counter would be a deterent?? I won't recommend spraying ammonia on them. |
