Yesterday I was in Sobey's Niagara Falls. I needed to pick up a couple of things for dinner. I had to stop at Bulk Barn they were both in the same plaza. I wanted some cheese as I was making Bruschetta on Focacia and salad for dinner. To my absolute shock Black Diamond Cheese was $9.59 for the 500 g package. I was stunned as the week before I bought the same cheese for $4.97 Needless to say I didn't buy any. I thought Zehrs was expensive, their prices keep rising on a weekly basis plus so many of the products have decreased in size. I have started to shop at Freshco. They don't always have everything I need but on the most part their prices are far less than other stores. I'm not a cheese eater my son is. I bought some goat cheese in a package paying $2.99 and a package of shredded cheese 500g for $3.99 A head of broccolli at Sobeys was $2.49 Freshco a dollar less. We go through a lot of vegetables as my son does not eat meat. I make less for myself I will have shrimp or broil a piece of haddock or cod. I really wonder how people can make their food budget stretch week to week when the cost of everything escalates to outrageous prices. I do like to make my own preserves as green relish, some jams But trying to buy good food is becoming more difficult. Especially when grocery stores rob you blind! |

Yesterday afternoon we shopped first at Metro and then Costco. Kim picked up 2 dozen large eggs at Metro, and I told her they are cheaper at Costco, but still she bought them at $7.58 for the two dozen. I bought the same 2 dozen large eggs at Costco for $5.19!!! Also, there were few people in Metro whereas the parking lot at Costco was jam packed. Take care, Pat |

When we were first married, there used to be co-ops around in Toronto, we were heavily into health foods back then and we saved a lot using that system, not sure if that is still going on. Have not had the time lately, but was trying to shop carefully because of many friends doing the same thing. Have found if you have the time, it is actually more fun to shop carefully, especially if you find most shopping boring. . Use flyers, coupons, make a list, compare prices, shop in bulk, Fresh Co, which is owned by Sobeys, No Frills and Walmart super store all honour pricing noted in their competitors flyers.; you can save gas by carrying those flyers to one store. |

How often does she have to have sex with the super store owner? Could be a better deal than having to 'perform' every Saturday night! You don't have to sleep with supermarket owners to get screwed by them. |

1sm088doubleup.gif . Yeah, that's true. It applies in other situations too. For example, I've been having an intimate relationship with Steven Harper for some years now. And there's been no kissing. |
