For anyone who lives near a Loblaws and has occasion to buy flowers in the next week, they have roses which are usually $18/doz on sale for $8/doz. I had gone to buy flowers for Kim to give to a friend, and initially had 2 pkgs of carnations until the very nice lady in the flower department apprised me of the sale. Got 2 dozen for her friend and a dozen for myself. Mine are Talisman roses, and for Kim's friend I chose a doz white and a doz yellow. Happy day! Take care, Pat |

Right now watch for deals on garden mums. I just picked up four six inch pots of garden mums for $10.00. I went back for more and the rack was completely empty. Garden mums bloom in the fall with short days and are really hardy. |

I just got 3 bunches of beautiful gladioli from Darcie as a hostess gift. The colours are gorgeous and I especially love glads as they were my mother's favourite. Ruckus likes them too. ;) |

How lovely! Glads and tulips come in the most wonderful array of colours. I can't have plants or flowers in the house since Bertie came to live here, unless I put them some place completely inaccessible. There are very few spots that a cat can't get to! |

I have both Butter and Ruckus at the ready to eat the flowers or just drag them around. But, they are so beautiful that I am hovering around guarding them at the moment. The problem will be when I go to bed but I have one high place that I've never seen ruckus reach so I plan to take a chance on it. |

Angora, put them in the workshop with the door closed overnight. Would that work? I will bring glads any time and had such a great lunch, even came home with super salad dressing :-) Asked to be adopted, maybe they will think about it. I clean, and sew, and knit and will even iron in a pinch. Oh, and I also am able to run a sit down lawn mower. |

Angora and Darcie....is there evidence of this so called lunch and exchange of flowers and salad dressing? As in a photo? As moderator I must insist on substantiation. :rules: biggrin 04 I have a wonderful cutting garden full of flowers. No need to buy any, but since Red and Blue broke one of my favorite vases a day after they arrived, and knock over anything they possibly can and eat it whether or not it is upright, I haven' brought in a single arrangement. |

They are a great bargain aren't they Helen? I used to buy myself flowers quite often, but these days I opt for a book or a bottle of wine. biggrin 04 Take care, Pat |

I'm the same - bottle of wine for sure ! Couldn't pass up the bargain for the roses though, and they're quite lovely. |
